Boat of Garten is a beautiful village situated in the Spey Valley. It is an ideal base for many sporting and nature activities in summer and winter. There is even a steam train that runs past the bottom of the garden. The village has 2 grocery stores, cafe, hotel and a restaurant. Our bungalow has 3 bedrooms, 2 of which are en-suite. There is a well equipped kitchen/dining room and a lounge with a beautiful view.We also have a utility room which is great for drying wet gear and storing wellies! Our bungalow is set in a large garden, which is fun to explore. The Strathspey Steam Railway Line runs past the bottom of the garden and the golf course is on the other side of that. There is a well-equipped, modern kitchen/dining room and a separate lounge with a beautiful view of the Cairngorms. A travel cot and high chair are available, on request. I am available for any questions that you may have during your stay and will leave my contact details for you. Boat of Garten is a lovely, friendly village in the Spey Valley. There are 2 grocery shops in the village which are well-stocked, in particular, the post office has a great selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Aviemore is just a 10 minute drive away, where there is a supermarket and also a range of other shops, including many winter sports shops. There are many opportunities for different activities, for all ages, during your stay. Skiing, snow boarding and cross country skiing during the winter months- the ski area is about a 25 minute drive from the house. Loch Morlich and Loch Insh are also very popular for sailing and other water sports. Boat of Garten has a beautiful 18 hole golf course. The tennis club has a variety of competitions during the summer, particularly in August. Whilst most people will be travelling by car, the village can be accessed by train, via the Strathspey Railway, or by local bus from Aviemore. The Strathspey railway has only a few trains per day though. The area has various cycle routes, one of which passes by the house. There are some lovely walks to take from the house- up into the woods behind the village or down to the riverside. There is a lockable shed for you to store bikes, golf clubs etc.
