Comfortable, clean, cosy, peaceful and self-contained one room studio/cabin. Facilities for light cooking in the room. Riddells Creek is a quiet small town in lovely surrounding countryside and views of the Macedon Ranges. Close to well-known tourist areas. This comfortable, self-contained one room cabin is set apart in a peaceful spot, a few meters from my cottage. It contains a double bed with comfortable latex mattress. Slippers provided. (Outside shoes left on the doorstep.) In the room is a TV, dvd player, wifi, fridge, double-ring portable electric cooktop for light cooking only, kettle, mini-oven, micro-wave, all you need for preparing/cooking breakfast and other light cooking , split-system air-conditioning/heating, hangers and hanging space, small table and 2 chairs. You will find the ingredients for a continental breakfast in your fridge - eggs, milk, butter, jam, honey, fruit, bread, tea, coffee etc. All organic where possible. If you would like to try an Ayurvedic porridge for breakfast, (wonderful on a cold winter's morning!) I can prepare that for you on request, for a small extra charge. There is a small ensuite shower and toilet. Guests are free to sit in the garden in warm weather. Some like to sit out to take their breakfast in the garden in front of the guest cabin. The most convenient access to my property is through my carport, so guests are given a remote for the roller door to get in and out that way. Guests are welcome to park in my carport. I work from my clinic at home. When not with a patient, or out teaching in Riddells Creek, I love to stay home in my cottage with my old dog, or spend time in my garden tending to vegetables, flower beds and pot plants. I am available and more than happy to help you with any enquiries you have about getting around this lovely area of the Macedon Ranges, and if you are on your travels around Australia, I'd be able to direct with that too! Riddells Creek is a small peaceful country town at the foothills of the Macedon Ranges, surrounded by lovely rural pastures and bushland. I take my dog on some beautiful country walks in the area. Kangaroos are frequent visitors, even to my street, and my garden is visited by many beautiful colourful birds especially rosellas, lorikeets, fairy wrens and honeyeaters, as well as the typical Aussie battler, the magpie! In the town we have one small supermarket , an excellent deli, a couple of good cafes, a very good Indian restaurant, a Thai restaurant and a pizza and pasta place. There is a small medical centre, pharmacy, hairdresser, post office, lovely neighbourhood house, a pub and the best op shop for miles around! A few kms away is Gisborne or Macedon for other lovely eating places, pubs and wineries. There is a pretty park and lake in Riddells Creek. Dromkeen historic homestead is just outside Riddells Creek - lovely big house on 25 acres with fascinating gallery and tearoom. The larger towns of Gisborne and Sunbury are 10 mins drive away, and on the train line. Riddells Creek is very well positioned for the city and the tourist areas of the Macedon Ranges, including Hanging Rock and many good wineries. If you are interested in theatre, the beautiful Mount Players theatre is nearby and they put on some fantastic shows. The Spa Country, an area famous for its mineral springs, is about 40 mins drive away. Also Riddells Creek is a perfect peaceful stop-off if you are on your way round Australia Very handy getting into Melbourne - 5 min walk to Riddells Creek railway station - train to city takes 50 mins. The other direction takes you out to Bendigo in about an hour. There is an efficient local taxi service (about 25 mins to Melbourne International and Domestic Airport). Drive to Ballarat to see the famous Sovereign Hill in just over an hour. To the famous Hanging Rock by car is 15mins. Close to lovely bush walks in the Macedon Ranges. 40 mins drive to Daylesford and the Spa Country.
