Coastal cottage perfect for Snowdonia and Anglesey
If you're looking for a holiday let with stunning views and comfortable accommodation in a quiet location and yet within a couple of minutes' walking distance to the seafront, pub and eateries, then 'Rhyd' will be perfect for you! Whilst light and airy, the cottage is warm and cozy with a log burner for those chillier nights as well as outdoor space for dining or simply relaxing with a drink. With Snowdonia and Anglesey on its doorstep, it is ideally located for exploring the local area. Y Felinheli is a small village on the banks of the Menai Straits with a great community feel. Cymraeg (Welsh) is the first language of the majority of people living in the area. The local shop and post office on the main road (Bangor Street) sells groceries and other essentials. There is a cash machine (charges a fee for cash withdrawals). Also on the main road is a pub and Thai restaurant and a Chinese takeaway and chippy. There is a regular bus service to Bangor on one side of Bangor Street and to Caernarfon on the other side. Turn down Snowdon Street for the beach and green, and the Gardd Fon Bistro and pub. Lovely for a drink on the wall watching the boats sail by. There is also the Sail Loft pop up cafe on the green at peak times (carrot cake recommended!). Turn off Snowdon Street to Hen Gei Llechu, following signs for the cycle track or coastal path. This will also lead you to the Port Dinorwic Dock and La Marina (great tapas) and The Swellies cafe (great brunches). There is a regular bus service to Bangor on one side of the road and to Caernarfon on the other side. Parking is also available on the main road towards Caernarfon.
