- We follow COVID-19 Cleaning Protocol - Your home away from home. Sun-drenched and newly renovated apartment in Alvalade, one of Lisbon’s most acclaimed and desirable neighborhoods. The apartment comfortably sleeps up to four and a baby, and is only steps from the subway station. There is a direct subway line to the historic city centre and the riverfront (the ride is 15 and 19 minutes respectively) and the subway also connects to the trains bound for the Cascais coast and the beaches. The apartment has a beautiful view onto the gardens out back, as well as a small balcony towards the neighborhood street out front. The apartment has one bathroom with a shower and full-size bathtub, as well as two bedrooms. The master bedroom features a real king-size bed; the second bedroom has a single bed. At your request we can put a second single bed into this bedroom, or ad a baby crib to either bedroom. The living room has a desk, cable television, a stereo system and there is high-speed internet access throughout the apartment. Adjacent to the living room is a dining room and a separate kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped (regular-size stove, dishwasher and fridge, espresso machine and toasters, pots and pans, plates and cutlery) and has a small breakfast table. The kitchen also has a laundry machine. The clothing can be air dried outside. If you are coming with children or stay for longer, you might enjoy the beautiful garden out back. The garden, which is shared with neighbors, has orange, lemon, apple and plum trees, and is a great place to kick back. EASY START: At your request and for an additional fee, we are happy to stock the refrigerator with goodies to get you off to a delicious and healthy start. HOUSE CLEANING: For an extra fee and at your request only, we will try to arrange for house cleaning at your convenience. -- During some months, we cannot guarantee this service. Alvalade is one of the historic and most desirable neighborhoods of Lisbon. It benefits from an excellent location with easy connection to the airport and to downtown by subway. It has a wonderful architecture, several parks, and some of Lisbon's best public and private schools. The atmosphere of the neighborhood is characterized by the traditional way of life of Lisbon’s inhabitants. In addition to authentic shops and cafes, this neighborhood has some of Lisbon’s best unpretentious restaurants, which are largely frequented by locals. For those who rather cook at home, there are several super markets, as well as the famous Alvalade food market. This is a vibrant market that offers the freshest fish, seafood, vegetables and fruits, and has an excellent selection of Bacalhau, cured meats and cheeses. The neighborhood also has a large movie theater, and four parks. The one opposite the apartment has a playground and a swimming pool, as well as a short running track. Others invite for longer runs. Don't miss out on a great espresso in neighborhood cafe; try the local restaurants that offer straightforward, excellent and unpretentious fare; enjoy the fabulous local wines while taking in the view from a sunny terrace; wander the city streets that will always hold a surprise; and bath in the light that is like nowhere else... Come and see for yourself! We are sure you will fall in love with the way of life of this city and country: It's simple but by no means simplistic. The apartment is located in a side street of Avenida da Igreja (the main shopping street in Alvalade) and is just only a two-minute walk away from the Alvalade subway station. This subway station has a direct line to the historic city centre and the river front (the ride is only 15 and 19 minutes respectively), and also has a direct connection to the trains bound for the Cascais cost and beaches. Parking is easy in this neighborhood. There are several parking garages close by, and for a fee cars can also be parked on the street. COVID-19 CLEANING PROTOCOL: Please know and rest assured, we follow the COVID-19 Cleaning Protocol developed by Airbnb in collaboration with the former US Surgeon General. In accordance, we also leave 24 hours between all bookings. EXECUTIVE STAYS: Please ask us for special rates for executive stays and medium to long-term rentals. The apartment is within easy reach of universities, hospitals and major companies, as well as the airport. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: If you require two single beds in the second bedroom, rather than a single bed and a baby crib (as pictured), please let us know when booking. AND MORE: The building does not have an elevator, but the apartment is located only on the second floor. Strollers can be parked a few steps down from the building entrance in a secure area.
