Our cottage has been lovingly renovated and furnished to an extremely high standard, cleverly combining lots of original character with contemporary convenience. Modern facilities include; Wi-Fi with high speed broadband, Smart TV with Freeview, Netflix and Catch-up TV. Mill Street Cottage is situated in the centre of Wincanton and there is a parking space directly in front of the property for a small car (Ford Fiesta size). However, if your car is bigger, there is free parking available in Mill Street all day and you can park in the evening without any issues. We live a few miles from the cottage and are always available via the Airbnb message system or on the mobile number you have been provided with. Wincanton is a vibrant market town, ideally located just off the A303 in South Somerset, just a short drive (within 30 minutes) from historic local towns of interest such as; Castle Cary, Bruton, Sherborne, Glastonbury, and Shaftesbury. A little further (45 minutes) and you can visit; Bath, Frome, Wells, Cheddar Gorge, Stonehenge or the stunning Jurassic Coast. Mill Street, probably the oldest and prettiest street in the town, leads from the Market Place down to where the old mill once stood. Like many towns in Somerset wool was an important industry, in addition to silk and linen. You can still see houses with wide loom windows, designed to maximise daylight hours for the weavers. Our cottage is in Mill Street, a short walk from the high street which has many independent businesses including a selection of great coffee shops, the amazing Lovington Bakery, Andrew Barclay the local Butcher and a great choice of pubs and takeaways. There are supermarkets including Morrisons, Lidl and Co-Op in the vicinity for convenience. Our cottage is situated in the centre of Wincanton and there is a parking space directly in front of the property for a small car (Ford Fiesta size).
