The downstairs open-plan kitchen and living area is the perfect place to have a quiet night in, cooking up a feast in the well-equipped kitchen and relaxing on the comfy sofa after a long day of roaming the Peaks. Adjacent to the cottage is a lovely little private lawned garden area with private parking. Location Located at the end of a 500-metre private driveway, the cottage occupies a quiet and secluded spot next door to the owner's house on the edge of the village. A network of public footpaths can be accessed from the door connecting keen hikers and dog walkers to the hills. The local pub is less than a mile away and serves excellent food and local ales. Brosterfield Cottage is owned by the our wonderful neighbours who have recently moved to Foolow to make it their home with their 2 small boys and live next door in Brosterfield Hall. The cottage is managed by myself and our dedicated small friendly team at Brosterfield Farm. We own and run Brosterfield Farm holiday cottages next door. Brosterfield Cottage is located in the lovely countryside village of Foolow. Just a short stroll into the centre of the village you'll find the local duck pond, village green and local pub. Pubs: If you're after tradition pub grub, a warming atmosphere, good ales and a friendly landlord the Bulls Head is the perfect place. The famed "Barrel" at Bretton is also a must, enjoy a good traditional ale overlooking to breathtaking views down the valley above Foolow. Shops: Around 1.5 miles away in Eyam, is the closest village shop to Brosterfield. A short 3 miles down the road to Calver Cross Roads, you can find local farmer's produce as well as all the big brands products. Bakewell is the nearest market town with loads of local and well known shops and holds a weekly market very Monday. Sheffield and Chesterfield are each only half an hour’s drive away. Manchester is easily accessed by both road and local train stations, which about an hour away by rail. Brosterfield is just off the A623 main road so is very easy to navigate and get to by car. The nearest train station is Grindleford which is on the main Manchester to Sheffield route and approximately 3 miles from Brosterfield. Foolow has a regular bus service to the centre of the village, with routes into places such as Sheffield. The owners of Brosterfield Hall have a lovely doggie which generally tends to be kept around the Hall, but occasionally you may meet her. She is very friendly. We do ask if you are bringing dogs yourself to keep your doggies on the lead when outside of the property and if you have a dog that may not like other dogs, just to let us know in advance. One dog is permitted, an additional fee of £20.00 per day applies. Dogs are requested to be kept downstairs and off all furniture. TV IN THE COTTAGE Due to the unique nature of Brosterfield Cottage's position in the Peak District, the cottage is currently unable to receive a terrestrial TV signal. Therefore the TV service is provided through the superfast broadband, delivering on-demand, catch up and some live channels through popular apps such as BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, 4oD and more.
