Beautiful cottage with walks from the doorstep

A charming, well equipped and comfortable cottage in a quiet setting, with beautiful countryside on the doorstep . A recently refurbished 19th century former mill worker's cottage decorated in country cottage style, perfect for couples, small families, or 2 or 3 friends. The cottage is ideally situated for the Peak District countryside; and Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Lyme Park, and Castleton are all an easy drive. See further details in our Guidebook. There is one double and one single bedroom, and one further guest can be accommodated in the single day bed in the loft room which is accessed through the main bedroom. The cottage has a travel cot and highchair. In the well equipped kitchen is a table seating four, and the cottage has a separate sitting room for relaxing, with a wood-burning stove. To the front of the property is a small south-facing cottage style garden with seating, a small table and an umbrella for shade on sunny days. We have a selection of maps and guidebooks to some of the local attractions and stately homes, but if you are staying in there are novels, games, a selection of DVDs, a "smart" TV and WIFI. In addition, the loft room has some Brio wooden track and trains, but do mind the low beams. Unfortunately we are unable to accept any pets at the property. The cottage is on a narrow but quiet lane and parking is on a first come, first served basis close by. Parking is not available immediately in front of the cottage because it is on the narrowest part of the lane. The cottage is on a no through road with a turning space at the end. There is a pub within 2 minutes' walk, and the shops, cafes and pubs of Hayfield are less than 2 miles away. Trains from nearby New Mills run to Manchester, Buxton, and Sheffield (via Edale). There are regular bus services from Hayfield to New Mills, Stockport and Glossop. We are 45 minutes easy drive from Manchester Airport Little Hayfield is a small hamlet at the foot of Lantern Pike. It has a pub and a children's play area with wooden play equipment accessed by a little foot bridge over a stream. It is a 20 minute walk by rural footpath to Hayfield with its cafes, pubs, and shops. There is a pub within 2 minutes' walk from the cottage, and the shops, cafes and pubs of Hayfield are less than 2 miles away (20 minutes by rural footpath or 2 minutes by car). Trains from nearby New Mills run to Manchester (35 minutes), Buxton (27 minutes), and Sheffield (49 minutes) (via Edale). There are regular bus services from Hayfield to New Mills, Stockport and Glossop. We are only 45 minutes from Manchester Airport. Nearest Park Run is Lyme Park (20 minutes) The cottage is on a quiet but narrow lane, so parking may be difficult for larger vehicles. It is a no through road with a turning circle at the end. No pets are allowed at the property. Smoking is not permitted in the house and- because the property is mid-terrace-we also ask guests not to smoke either in the front garden or rear yard. Both sets of stairs in the property have a handrail but are steep with narrow treads and are therefore unsuitable for guests with mobility problems. There are no stair gates. There is a high threshold step from the road into the front garden of the property. The sitting room contains a wood burning stove. There is no fire guard so children must not be left unsupervised at any times when the stove is lit. The loft room is a mezzanine area open to the main bedroom. It can only be accessed through the main bedroom via steep open stairs with narrow treads and a single handrail. It has restricted head height other than in the centre, and has low beams. It is not suitable for unsupervised children because of the steep open staircase.
