If you’re looking for a special, well equipped holiday house in North Wales, as close to the Seafront as you can get, then this has to be it! Borth-Y-Gest Village is a hidden gem in North Wales, providing a quiet place from which to explore the many attractions of the North Wales coast and inland areas. In an elevated position overlooking the harbour No.5 is a fully refurbished Victorian holiday house on the harbour with great views of Borth Y Gest Harbour and mountains beyond. One of the best locations in Borth –y–Gest on the harbour front on the sweeping coastline of The Lleyn Peninsula and set against the backdrop of Snowdonia. Turn right out of the front door and you are literally on the coastal path! Built in the late 1800s, No. 5 was previously one of the old pilot houses on Amanda Terrace named after a small ship built in the harbour (The Amanda).. It is now a holiday home arranged on 3 floors and retaining much of its original character. This spacious yet cosy property, which has undergone extensive refurbishment and redecoration, is equipped to the highest standard and is designed to be beautiful, comfortable, practical and relaxing. No.5 has been sympathetically restored and is well proportioned with great views, of the harbour, No. 5 Harbourside House is ideally suited for quiet breaks and hectic family holidays alike. With 3 bedrooms, 2 family bathrooms, a large, open plan dining kitchen and a lovely sitting room, with views of the harbour and a further cosy snug / attic room No.5 Harbourside House will happily accommodate gatherings of up to 5 people yet is equally suited to a quiet weekend away for two. Whether you’re after a cosy evening in for two, relaxing in the downstairs sitting room next to the wood burner, or a laid back night chatting with friends over a Gin and Tonic on the front terrace overlooking the harbour No. 5 , is perfectly suited to both summer or winter breaks. With the coastal path right on your doorstep, and Porthmadog town ten minutes’ walk away No. 5 Harbourside House is ideally placed. For a self-catering holiday house by the sea, you can’t get any closer! The House composes: • A Spacious sitting room with original elm floors and fire place with wood burner and two large Victorian sash windows overlooking the harbour. • Large, open plan fully fitted kitchen dining room (with a Range master gas hob and electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer); the dining table seats 6-8 people with a great seating arrangement using an old church pew from the village church. French doors lead onto the private back garden and lawn. • 3 bedrooms on the first floor (Two Double and one single) with a further attic bedroom / T.V room (a great teenage escape) • 2 family sized bathrooms (one on the ground floor) • Downstairs Utility room fitted with washing machine clothes drying area and storage area) Parking: On the road, right outside the house or alternatively ample parking is available in Borth Y Gest Car Park opposite the house. Wireless Broadband Internet connection Freeview TV Full Cleaning service: A Midweek clean is available on request. Bed linen and towels are not included but are available for a small additional fee Non-smokers only All of the property We are available by phone and the house keeper is available if required. The Village The picturesque fishing village of Borth Y Gest is a quiet coastal community located between Porthmadog and Black Rock Sands with no through traffic. The Village has, a restaurant and tearoom. There is also a slipway for small boats opposite the house. (Ideal for kayaking) Away from the Harbour, choose from any number of spectacular coastal and hillside walks out of the Village to unspoilt beaches and sandy coves – ideal for a long, leisurely walk or a picnic; alternatively venture into the tranquil woodland of Borth Woods, or for the more energetic, have a go at mountain walking/climbing up the soaring crags of Moel-y-Gest all on your door step! The Area Located on on the northern coast of Cardigan Bay, Borth-Y-Gest is a great place for boating and exploring clean, unspoilt beaches; it also offers quick, central access to the abundance of interesting and enjoyable places to discover and explore across North Wales Porthmadog is a 15 minute walk away with a larger selection of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as a Tesco and Aldi. The Ffestiniog steam trains can be seen crossing the Estuary from the front terrace. The Italianate village of Portmeirion is close by, as is the historic town of Criccieth, Bedgelert, Harlech and picturesque Samson’s Bay. What’s in the Area? Snowdon – Climb Great Britains spectacular second highest mountain! The Snowdon Mountain Railway – Ride on Britain’s highest track railway and savour the breath-taking views from the summit of this spectacular mountain Sygun Copper Mine – Discover underground adventure through the old workings of this historic copper mine – you can even pan your own copper! Imaginative exhibitions inside the towers bring history alive. Penryn Castle - Discover this fascinating 19th Century Fantasy Castle with industrial and colonial foundations If you are looking for a holiday home that is near Portmeirion (less then 4 miles by car) then No. 5 is in the ideal location. The house is within walking distance of Porthmadog, close to the Snowdonia National Park and also the Ffestiniog Steam Railway. Turn right out of the front door and you are on the coastal path with glorious sandy unspoilt beaches all a few minutes walk away. Please contact me before booking. We will consider one dog but by agreement only. Please message before you book. We respectfully ask you to please ensure that you have paid the £250 damage deposit into our bank account one week before your stay this will be returned a couple of days after your stay. We have generally not been required to deduct anything from this deposit from our guests but it is required to cover any potential damage loss breakages or additional cleaning. If you are not comfortable with this please do not book. We do not provide bed linen and towels unless pre arranged. If you require bed linen and towels please let us know we charge £50 for this service. We do not provide firewood for the wood burner this can be purchased very reasonably from Porthmadog.
