Calon Gypsy Wagons - 2 wagons

This listing is for BOTH gypsy wagons. Enjoy a short break with a difference in an authentic bow top gypsy wagon or 'vardo.' Situated just 4 miles outside the market town of Carmarthen in West Wales. Located on 15 acres of land in a rural setting with stunning views. A separate listing is available should you only require ONE of the wagons. However, you can rest assured, if you only require one wagon, no other guests will be on site at the same time as you. One of the wagons is an authentic Romany wagon which has been lovingly restored in a traditional way by Welsh Romanies before I realised a childhood dream of owning a 'vardo.' The other is purpose built. The cosy interiors offer a traditional double bed and space for two children under 8 in the 'cupboard' underneath (closing the doors, optional!) They have some small storage cupboards. We encourage guests to embrace the Romany lifestyle by cooking over an open fire (all the necessary equipment is provided). However a double ring gas hob and grill together with indoor dining facilities are available in the Summer House, 'Cwtsh Calon' if preferred. An electricity supply is also available in the summerhouse as well as in the changing area of the shower. There is good 4G coverage also in Cwtsh Calon. A pleasant compost toilet is located in the corner of the field. On arrival, you will be met at the gate to the field. In dry conditions most cars can be easily driven through the field and can be parked next to the wagon. Alternatively cars can be left just inside the entrance gate and luggage (and guests, if necessary!) can be transported in an alternative vehicle to the wagon Guests are welcome to wander around this working smallholding and meet the cheeky Shetland ponies, ducks, chickens and the gypsy cobs. We will always endeavour to meet our guests on arrival whenever possible. Help is at hand to light the camp fire if required and a complimentary 'camp fire box' includes fire lighters, newspaper, kindling, matches, gas lighter and fire wood. A small charge is applicable for extra fire wood. The location is approximately 300m from Carmarthen Golf Club. There is no public transport available from the site. This booking is for one wagon. An alternative listing is available should you require both.This is a great location to kick back, relax and re-charge your batteries whilst living close to nature but with a few touches of luxury in a stunning rural location. Alternatively, the location offers a convenient base to discover the gems of Carmarthenshire, Cardiganshire and Pembrokeshire with its stunning coastline, beautiful gardens, excellent hill walking as well as on the coastal path and plenty of opportunities for adventure such as kayaking, horse riding, mountain biking and so much more.
