Wohnen/Ferien machen mitten im Naherholungsgebiet!

Rheinau lies in close proximity of water, hiking trails and a lot of nature. you can bike, hike, swim, jog or go for a walk etc. right outside your front door. Our little town captivates you through its historic beauty, and the chloister on the island is always worth a visit. Your apartment is on the ground floor of a beautiful, 260 year old timber frame house and was renovated in 2021. The furniture is practically all new. If you come in you find yourself directly in the well equipped kitchen. Then you come into the dining-/livingroom with a small office corner. The next room can be used either as TV room or as bedroom, depending on how many people want to stay. The actual bedroom has a huge bed with memory foam mattresses (200 cm long, 220 cm wide). In the bathroom you will find a toilet, a shower, sink and a washing machine as well as a tumble dryer. There is a public parking right opposite our house, and usually it is easy to find a space there. The public bus is 50 m up the road and brings you to Marthalen, from where you can take the train to either Schaffhausen or Winterthur/Zurich. The apartment lies in the close vicinity of the beautiful chloister-island, which nowadays is used as a music-island. Next to our house you find a restaurant, just in case you don't feel like cooking yourself. There is also a very good restaurant on the chloister-island. The river Rhine is 120 m from our house and is perfect for swimming in summer, as the current is very low due to the electrical power station further upriver. There are various hiking trails all around our little town. You can walk to the famous Rhinefalls on the German side (1.5 h) or on the Swiss side (2.5 h). You find an indoor as well as an outdoor public pool, a shop and four restaurants in Rheinau. As we live directly on the border to Germany, cheep shopping in Jestetten is possible. We run a restaurant in Neuhausen (7 minutes by car). If you wish you can come there for lunch and/or dinner, and we'll make a special price for you (please search for heidys-huettli on the internet).
