Gites du Marigné

This three house gite complex offers a large space where groups of families or friends can get together and enjoy fun times. It has a large heated pool and over two acres of space to play in, including a petanque pitch and lots of outdoor play equipment. We are pet friendly and welcome your furry friends! Situated in peaceful countryside, great for walking, cycling, canoeing and fishing, yet still within a few minutes of local shops and markets. The local area is packed full of fun days out. Marigné is a rural idyll, providing year round space for groups to enjoy a charming and relaxing atmosphere. The peace and tranquillity of our gites provides the ideal opportunity to de-stress and enjoy the company of your family and friends. The accommodation is comfortable and delightfully decorated in a vintage style, in keeping with the character of our beautiful old buildings, yet provides the convenience of modern living. Each gite has books, games and DVDs for the use of our guests and the open spaces are equipped with a variety of play equipment including a croquet set, ball games and children's play area as well as our beautiful solar heated pool. We welcome well behaved pets and understand they are part of the family. Our resident chickens provide daily fresh eggs. Guests have access to a 3 bedroom, 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom gite, each having it's own private garden and BBQ area as well as access to the pool and large meadow and play areas. We are very friendly, customer orientated hosts who live on site. We are available to help with any questions if this is required and will take our lead from you. We are lucky to live close to all amenities, the nearest shops are just a 5 minute drive away. Our local town of Civray is 4.5km away and has bars, restaurants, cafes, banks and has two wonderful markets every week. There is also a lovely riverside walk in the town. We are close to many excellent family days out, several lakes, plenty of canoeing on the mighty Charente, excellent hiking and cycling, the famous Futuroscope, Valleé des Singes to name just a few as well as the beautiful villages pittoresques of Verteuil sur Charente and Nanteuil en Vallee just a short drive away. Bikes can be hired and collected on site please let us know if you require this. We are just over 1.5 hours drive from the beautiful coastline at La Rochelle, an hour from Cognac and for wine lovers, 2 hours from Bordeaux and the UNESCO site of St Emilion. We are a 10 minute drive from the nearest railway station at St Saviol, fast link trains run from Poitiers (35 minutes drive) to Paris and Bordeaux. We have a car park for the use of our guests. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement only. There is a maximum of two pets per gite. Please note that we have rules in place to ensure a happy and safe holiday for all. Dogs should not be left unattended in the gite for any length of time. Dogs need to be on a lead at ALL times in the shared areas and are not allowed in the pool area. We ask that you clean up after your dog and respect our home. A charge of €6 per day (€40 per week) will be applied by Airbnb to the booking after confirmation.
