Crynant Cottage

Our cottage is set on an old working farm. We have some beautiful views and some lovely walks right on the doorstep. Crynant Cottage is based within the village of Ynysybwl, which is an old mining village. The cottage is just on the outskirts of a forestry called Llanwonno, which is fantastic for walking or biking. Within the forestry itself there are beautiful trails where you can find waterfalls and a reservoir, all within walking distance of the cottage. Crynant Cottage is based within the village of Ynysybwl, which is an old mining village. The colliery was called The Lady Windsor and opened in 1884 and closed in 1988. There are some beautiful walks around our village, and some equally beautiful bike rides. If you want to go a little further afield you will need a car or use public transport. Within a 20-minute drive there is the famous bike park, Bike Park Wales, Cardiff city centre, a few famous local castles called Castell Coch & Caerphilly Castle and various country parks. Within a 30 minute drive you can find the Brecon Beacons national park and Pen Y Fan Mountain. Within a 35 minute drive you can get to Zip World Tower
