The bedroom area features a queen-sized pine cottage bed with hand crocheted bedspread. It has a private bath with shower. The Babcock House is a restored, turn of the century inn, dating back to 1884. It is believed that the front five rooms of the Babcock House were built in 1884 by Samuel Patterson Coleman, Jr. Subsequently, the house was owned by the Abbitt family. In 1908, the property was sold at public auction to H.C. Babcock for the price of $1,815.00. Adding the rooms to the rear of the original five, the Babcocks used the house as a family dwelling and boarding house until it was converted to a bed and breakfast in 1996. The inn features five bedrooms and one suite, all furnished with period antiques. All the rooms have private baths, cable television and free wifi. Our inn has central heat and air conditioning to insure your comfort. Our parlor is full of books, board games and instruments to enjoy next to the fireplace. The porches are great places to take in the small town atmosphere and sip a tasty beverage. Enjoy a full breakfast every morning of your stay, including fresh fruit, the chef’s entree selection, juice and steaming coffee, tea or cocoa. Our on-site restaurant offers elevated southern fare for lunch and supper with a focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients.
