Port Sunlight Railway Cottage
This Grade 2 Listed cottage is in the heart of the beautiful Port Sunlight Village on the Wirral. It is ideally located for exploring this stunning historic village as well as the Wirral peninsula, Cheshire and Merseyside. Port Sunlight train station is a five minutes work, with direct trains to Liverpool and Chester leaving every few minutes We are sure you will enjoy staying here. We look forward to welcoming you soon! Accommodation - The terraced house is refurbished to a high standard and we are positive that you will find everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Sleeping - There are 2 bedrooms with space to sleep 4. The master bedroom is a spacious, bright room with kingsize bed. The second bedroom has a double bed. A travel cot is available at the house, in the lounge there is a sofa bed (double bed) Bathrooms - The bathroom has a walk in shower and free-standing bath. Entertainment – 42" TV and fibre optic broadband. Lounge area - plenty of comfy sofa space, parquet flooring. Kitchen – very well equipped with usual equipment and appliances including electric oven, gas hob, microwave and dishwasher. There is a dining area with room for up to 6 people. Laundry - In the converted outhouse, there is a separate washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside space - there is a paved garden area with plants and shrubs. Parking - there is free roadside parking near the house. There is a free communal car park directly behind the house. Local amenities - local shops, a supermarket, take away restaurants and cafes are a short walk away. Larger shops, cinema and bowling alley are around 8 minutes away by car. Situated in Port Sunlight, the historic village founded in 1888 by William Hesketh Lever to house the workers from his soap factory, Port Sunlight has more than 900 Grade II listed houses designed by over 30 architects, set in 130 acres of parkland and gardens, It boasts a neo classical art gallery which houses internationally renowned Pre Raphaelite paintings and a museum as well as tea rooms and a pub, The Bridge Inn. Scenes from Peaky Blinders, Chariots of Fire and the biopic of J.R.R. Tolkien have all been filmed in the village. The cottage is a 5 minute walk from two train stations, one at either end of the road, with direct links to both Liverpool and Chester city centres. The motorway (the M53) is 5 minutes away and it is a 10 minute drive or 10minutes on the train to Woodside should you wish to catch the Mersey Ferry to Liverpool. The Wirral is bounded by the River Mersey to the west, the River Dee to the east and the Irish Sea to the north. It has 5 designated local nature reserves, Bidston moss, Dibbensdale, Heswall Dales, Hilbre Island and Thurstaton Common. There is also Wirral Country Park, the first to be established in Britain.The space Further afield there are many Wirral attractions to enjoy and all are very accessible by public transport as well as by car. The house is a 1 minute walk from the nearest station (Port Sunlight), with very regular trains to both Liverpool (20 minutes) and Chester (25 minutes). There are many beautiful countryside and coastal local walks including our favourite - along the Wirral way. The cottage backs on to the Port sunlight Garden centre and has a cafe and Restaurant, gifts and lovely outside boarders
