Take it easy at this unique waterfront cabin getaway. This all new log cabin on a spacious two acres and only feet away from the Adirondack's scenic Otter Creek. The creek ranges from 40 to 60 feet wide, has gentle rapids, relaxing sounds, rocky areas with a great soaking pool directly in front of the cabin and firepit. With nearby state parks and forests there is plenty of hiking, fishing, watersports, horseback riding, biking and skiing for any outdoor enthusiast. This is our newest cabin that just opened for reservations starting August 2021. Because we built this cabin from the ground up with hospitality in mind, this is no ordinary cabin or site. The 600sf 1 bed 1 bath cabin on 2 acres of pristine forest is just 60 feet from the scenic waterfront. With full frontal windows, guests can enjoy a great view of the creek, forest, and stars directly from the living area. Also, a long 300' private driveway off of a country road winds through the woods to the cabin with ample parking. The cabin is set up for 2 guests very comfortably, however, if your kids or other friends do not mind sleeping on the very comfortable queen sleeper sofa located in the living room that is a great option for a total of 4 guests. This Property is located near the Adirondack's famous Otter Creek Horse Trails. Adjacent to the western edge of the Adirondack Park to the east of Lake Ontario, south of Lowville in Lewis County are two public forest areas managed by the State Department of Environmental Conservation, (the DEC): the Independence River Wild Forest, and the Independence River and Otter Creek State Forest. There are 65 miles of prime riding trails through these two adjacent wilderness areas as part of the Otter Creek Horse Trails. The Otter Creek Horse Trails are a series of old sandy roads and wooded trails that traverse a beautifully diversified region, populated with wildlife. Once off the sandy roads, the trails wind their way along sand flats and through wooded areas, access picturesque glacial ponds, and have climbs that lead to fine river vistas. If you and your horse like water, the trails follow or cross the Independence River and no less than seven smaller waterways: Otter, Little Otter, Beaver Meadow, Chase, Burnt, and Crooked Creeks. All eventually flow into the Black River that continues on north into Lake Ontario. It's truly a beautiful area in any season of the year. Yes, even in winter. This southern Lewis County gem is also near other large State forests and preserves such as the Independence Wild Forest (76,000 acres) and the Otter Creek State Forest 1200 acres of great fishing and hiking that is only a few miles upstream.
