Beautiful private rural house with heated pool

Beautiful five bedroom farmhouse, with a heated swimming pool, in the heart of the French countryside yet only a short cycle ride to the boulangerie. Within the grounds is a games room with pool table and table tennis table. Badminton and boules can be played in the enclosed garden and tennis racquets are available for a game or two in the village nearby. Why not take a dip in the lazy spa and watch the stars late in the evening. It really is a place to relax! Guests love this house as it’s a perfect place to relax. Parisians love to arrive with their food and wine supplies and stay put for the duration of their holiday. Other guests love a bit of both relaxation and discovery. There are plenty of churches, chateaux, beautiful villages, the Remy Martin and Cognac Houses, canoeing on The Charentes, horse-riding nearby, fishing lake with picnic areas and picnic tables and man-made beach within 5 minutes drive. There’s Futuroscope for the children, sea life centres, monkey valley and so much more. The beaches along the west coastline, between La Rochelle and Royan are about an hour’s leisurely drive away and are definitely worth visiting. We’re only an hour to the Dordogne. Back at home, the local bakery is only a 10 minute cycle ride past the sunflower fields or a 5 minute drive by car. You can also pick up a few groceries or meat for the barbecue. For the wine lovers among us, the wine-tasting vineyard of Roland Vilneau is within a ten minute drive. However, you don’t need to drive there as I can arrange for him to come to the house, so that no-one has to drive! House, garden, pool, games room, open barn and bbq area. The enclosed garden is for your private use whilst on holiday. I will be available by telephone at any time. The caretakers live locally and will be able to help if you have any queries. They will call in midweek to check and clean the pool, aswell as doing their Saturday pool clean. The house is in French farming countryside and overlooks vineyards and sunflower fields. You could say that it’s a sleepy village- great for cycling and walking. There’s a small 13th Century chateaux and a 13th Century church just a few minutes walk behind the house. For horse lovers, there’s a riding school nearby. You can cycle to it or it’s just a few minutes drive away. If you like to play football or tennis, there’s courts and football field in the next village, where you can also buy fresh bread and croissants etc at the boulangerie. There’s a small butchers selling excellent produce and a tiny grocery shop which normally has just what you need if you forgot something in your main shopping expedition. The Charente River runs through the region and if you like canoeing or picnics by the river, it’s great for this. There’s a man-made lake with beach about 6 minutes drive away and you can take the inflatables with you to enjoy whilst there. We also have a 2-man inflatable canoe. We are perfectly situated for visiting different regions but we tend to find that people like to spend their time relaxing by the pool and playing games in the garden. A car is required for this holiday if you like to go out to restaurants and visit other regions. Taxis are available but do need to be booked up in advance. We have had guests from Paris stay. They didn’t bring a car with them and preferred to stay at the house and enjoyed relaxing ‘at home’. There is a folder at the house which details how everything works. I will also send you an information pack on reservation which will tell you things about the local area and places to visit further afield, in addition to how everything works at the house.
