Rural Brittany Farmhouse / Gite Rurale Bretagne

Les Vallees is a traditional Brittany farmhouse Gite, exclusively yours for your holiday stay. Located in a small rural hamlet of 5 houses, but only 2 miles (3 km) to the nearest small town with supermarket, boulangerie and restaurants. We provide a real home away from home with plenty of games for the children, DVD's, PlayStation, French TV and Sky TV, bikes, and everything you would expect in a family home. The Gite sleeps 6, is perfect for couples, families with children, and we accept pets. Our Gite is perfectly situated, only 40 minutes from both the North and South Brittany coasts, as well as having being close to many local attractions within this beautiful part of North-West France. The Gite has retained many of its original farmhouse features such as massive oak beams, carved fireplaces and traditional tiled floors whilst we've added modern comforts such as central heating, satellite TV, French TV, double glazing, a dishwasher and power shower. Downstairs the main L-shaped building consists of a large Lounge with working fireplace, a fully-fitted Kitchen and a toilet/shower room; whilst upstairs are two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, a separate toilet and the bathroom. Outside, there's a large patio with dining table, chairs, BBQ and sunloungers overlooking the 15 foot (5m) swimming pool and garden. The Gite is situated in a roughly half acre enclosed garden, surrounded by fields and woods. Between the two 'wings' of the Gite is a floodlit gravelled courtyard and a large open barn on the opposite side. Beyond the Gite and barn are two large grassed gardens with apple and pear trees, a massive oak tree, flower and shrub beds. Pets are welcome to stay in the Gite, and the garden is fully fenced in. We provide a comprehensive "Gite Guide" covering everything you should need to know and if you have any problems or questions, Geoffrey and Liz are just a phone call away. Our Gite is in wonderful rural location, a tiny hamlet of just 5 houses, surrounded by fields and forests. We're just 3 km (2 miles) from the nearest small towns with a range of shops, restaurants and a supermarket, and its only 10-15 miles drive to the larger towns of Josselin, Loudeac and Pontivy. Each town has its own character, medieval houses, a weekly street market, magnificent Chateau, and plenty to see and do for all the family. We're located in central Brittany with both the South and North Brittany coasts being about 40 minutes drive. Our "Gite Diary" describes many of the favourite places that we and other guests have been to, and there's a large collection of brochures and leaflets of other attractions and places to visit. If you fancy a scrummy galette pancake or desert crepe we thoroughly recommend the pancake restaurant in nearby La Cheze, we go every time we visit the Gite ! Getting to the Gite is easy with ferries from Portsmouth, Poole and Plymouth to St Malo (1 ½ hours drive), Roscoff (2 hours), Caen (3 hours), Cherbourg (4 hours) and Le Havre (4 hours). If you prefer the quicker Dover/Calais crossing or Eurotunnel, it's only 6 hours drive (and can cost a fantastic £39 each way with DFDS); or you can fly from 99p with Ryanair, FlyBe or AerArran to local Brittany airports from a number of regional airports across the UK and Ireland including London Luton, Stansted, Nottingham, Birmingham, Exeter, Southampton, Cardiff, Cork, Waterford and Dublin.
