Vegan & Vegetarian Countryside Retreat, Wye Valley
A secluded retreat for Vegan & Vegetarian guests. Owned by long term vegans, we try to be as earth-friendly and ecological as possible and being vegan is part of this philosophy of life. The Studio offers a home from home environment for our guests who are wanting to truly relax and escape from the everyday stresses of life. We welcome your four legged friends too! We have extensive walks from our doorstep, where you can explore the beautiful River Wye, woodlands, local pub & village stores. Located in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the border of The Wye Valley & Forest Of Dean, The Studio is a self contained open plan building within our grounds. There is a separate bathroom & fully equipped kitchen. Guests can relax in the organic fields with wild orchids and abundant wildlife in pure peace and tranquility. An outside private dining space can be enjoyed with breathtaking views. The Studio is nestled in the grounds of our home but we have enough space to allow for privacy, including a separate driveway, entrance and outdoor patio area. The Studio is not over looked. We are here as much or as little as you need us, and pride ourselves on being warm and friendly. We are very proud of the feedback we have had so far, and we very much look forward to welcoming you if you are also looking to stay at The Studio. Our two small dogs Tutu and Zizi are very friendly and we welcome your four legged friends too! There is a lovely walk around the grounds for you to enjoy & plenty of walks direct from the property to explore, including the ever popular Offas Dyke. The Studio is a lovely open plan light space, with a separate kitchen and bathroom. We have used low VOC water-based paints in decorating throughout. The small tap in the kitchen delivers water filtered by reverse osmosis for drinking. The bed linen and towels, which are all provided in your stay are organic cotton - many chemicals are used in normal cotton growing. The underfloor heating is delivered by ground source – pipes under the field draw heat from the ground which is converted in the 'engine room.' The wind turbine in our field contributes to the electricity supply. We only use ecological cleaning products and provide ecological vegan liquid soap and shampoo, which is important as we have a private drainage system which works with gravel, rushes and willow to filter, which cleans the water which then goes into the pond. Chemicals disturb the natural balance. There are two metal dustbins (not plastic!) – one for general waste and one for recyclables: metal, glass, paper and plastics which please all need to be clean before being put in the bin. There is a small compost bin on the kitchen windowsill for plant matter. Compost is then used on the gardens. We provide our guests with organic coffee, tea and sugar. For your convenience The Studio has a hair dryer and a portable steamer, should clothes need creases removed. Television, dvd player with a selection of dvds, books and local information. The Studio is a self contained property within the owners grounds. It has it's own driveway, parking & entrance. All set within beautiful grounds, outside dining space with breathtaking views. We are both writers and with very busy schedules we are not always available. To ensure our guests are provided with the best experience The Studio is managed by Emma Nelson at White Feather Management. Emma will be available at all times to ensure you have everything you need during your stay. The Studio is located in the lovely Village of Brockweir. Standing right beside the Offas Dyke Path, which is very popular with walkers. There are ample woodland & riverside walks in this Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty.
