Cradle of many Celtic legends, the forest of Huelgoat, or "Fontainebleau Breton", is best known for the curiosity and beauty of its rocks: a pile of rounded granite blocks with a chaotic disposition that inspired many stories. Among many you will find; Le Champignon, Moulin du Chaos, La Roche Tremblante, La Grotte du Diable, La Grotte d'Artus, La Mare aux Sangliers, Le Gouffre, and La Mare aux Fees. The Argent River is also meandering here, the fairy grounds of Huelgoat. My neighborhood is very quiet, so we welcome like-minded guests. Huelgoat centre is within walking distance (1 km) as well as Les Arbre du Monde (500m). The market is every Thursday morning. There is a cinema in town, as well as art galleries. You can walk in the forest that starts right next to the lake - or you can also join it on a path right behind our house. Through this walk you will discover the famous granite chaos. Nestled in the heart of the Monts d'Arrée and Le Parc Naturel Régional d'Armorique, Huelgoat is around an hour's drive from the Roscoff Ferry Terminal, an hour from Brest and an hour from the nearest beach. Parking is free in the city center and around the lake. An Intermarché is located less than 600 meters from the city center. Two cats live with my husband and I. The cats are free to roam the house and outdoors, with the exception of the guest's room. ***People with allergies may wish to consider a different listing.
