Spectacular Muskoka Waterfront Cottage

A modern west-facing cottage on the Moon River right in the quaint village of Bala. The very private 1-acre property sits at the end of a peninsula with water on three sides, with 600 ft of waterfront. Enjoy gorgeous sunsets from the dock or hot tub, make 'Smores' around the campfire (see note below), grill your dinner on the gas barbecue, and enjoy the small sand beach. It has often been said that this property has the best view on the historic Moon River, a cottage country favourite destination for more than 100 years. Although it is a river, two dams downstream about 10 km mean it is much more like a lake, and the bay in front of our cottage is very calm. The cottage itself has a very large kitchen with an island, and you can choose from three dining areas: the dining room itself (see photo), and outdoor waterside dining area just off the kitchen, and a "Muskoka Room", a screened in dining area which seats 10 and is handy when the mosquitoes are biting. Walk into the town of Bala and choose from it's six restaurants, many shops and other amenities, which start less than half a kilometre away. The town features a grocery store, liquor store, Beer Store, butcher, the famous Don's Bakery, historic concert venue Kee to Bala, and much more. Just 200 metres up the road from the cottage is Jaspen Park, which features a larger beach and children's playground. On Mondays Jaspen Park offers a farmer's market as well. Please note that we do not supply any watercraft, life jackets or other items for water sports. Boats, kayaks, canoes etc are available for rent in town. If you plan to have campfires, you will need to purchase your own firewood. It is available at the Freshmart (grocery store) in town but will be cheaper if you buy it somewhere to the south.
