In swiss Jura mountains, altitude of 1111 m. Hiking, skiing, snowshoes, horse riding, are activities available near the chalet (skis to rent at the small ski ressort near the chalet). Tourism information : (Website hidden by Airbnb) Biel (Bienne in french) is 20 min drive from the chalet; Jura, Bern, Neuchâtel are 1 hour by car from the chalet. Wifi & sauna are free, easy to use. Prices include obligatory "tourist tax, 4.-" per day/person. Free parking. (the chalet is 30 meters walking distance from parking). the chalet is well built, entirely in wood, simple. Quiet surroundings.. If you want a typical swiss dish as "rösti" or fondue or raclette or "croûtes aux champignons" : just walk or drive to local farm where they cook for visitors. These farms are called "métairies". (good prices and friendly welcome in most métairies). We will show you how to reach them on foot or by car. They often open from thursday to sunday. You have access to all rooms in the chalet. Thank you not to walk with shoes in the chalet, we supply enough "slippers". No smoking in the chalet. We live in Bienne and you can reach us in case of questions, problems, etc. Our address in Bienne : Rue du Faucon 21. Natural park, Métairies, view on Alps (90 km away from chalet, Wengen/ Grindelwald/Mürren are famous alpine ressorts). Bern is one of the oldest city in Europe, 45 km from the chalet. There is a great "canyon" to visit by foot between the chalet and Bienne, quite impressive ! (called "Taubenloch, 35 minuts walk). cross country ski : see : (URL HIDDEN) small alpine ski ressort 10 minuts from chalet : (URL HIDDEN) You can also rent cross country skis and "raquettes" : LLV langlaufzentrum Les Prés d'Orvin. Possibility to rent electrical mountain bikes in Orvin village. The chalet is not so easy to reach by public transport : 3 to 4 buses per day to Pres-d'Orvin (buses go to Bienne train station). Then, from bus stop called "Bellevue" , you have to walk 25 minuts to reach the chalet. Easier to come by car..It is a mountain road, but very safe. In winter, you need winter tyres and maybe chains for your tyres. Do not drink water from the tap, it is rain water. We supply enough water in bottles, at no cost. You can drink rain water if you boil it, rain water is perfect to cook. Sauna is easy to use; just follow instructions written next to the sauna. Wifi free of charge.
