Scent of macchia, cirping cicadas and lovely houses in a relaxed atmosphere of people recharging their batteries makes for a very relaxing holiday on the seaside. Except for August, when it gets a bit more crowded, Ansedonia is a very calm place... There are several bars and restaurants and a small shop for groceries, bread and stuff in Ansedonia. For bigger shopping you have to go to Orbetello, Capalbio Scalo or Albinia , for "Corso" and nightlife try Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano. Besides the long beaches, there are lots of things to discover: first of all the roman town "Cosa" right on top of Ansedonia. The pine forest "pineta" invites for long strolls, you can swim, sail, surf, play Golf at the Argentario Golf Club, ride on horseback, rent bicycles, go scuba-diving, visit Rome, Siena, have a look at the place where the Costa Concordia sank, go bird-watching on the lagoon of Orbetello, visit Niki de St. Phalle's tarot garden, see all the Etruscan places, dip into the hot springs in Saturnia or just sit under a sunshade with a good book...
