Alex welcomes you to this loft space apartment. Set in the roof space of Simon House which was once a stable, then a village shop, now three abodes. This place makes you smile - light floods in the 10 velux windows which in turn offer views across the roof tops, high street and countryside of Avening and beyond. Perfect for star gazing at night. Avening nestles in a Cotswold valley in between Tetbury and Nailsworth. This private getaway has it's own entrance at street level. There are no restrictions to park on the High street opposite Simon House. On entry there is a ground level coat, boot and utility room with a washing machine and dryer. There is also enough space for two bikes. Upstairs you will find a shower room, a well equipped open plan living, dining and kitchen space with one bedroom with a king sized bed. We also offer a baby travel cot and a safety stair gate. Smart TV with Sky. Central heating and mood lighting. We offer high speed wifi. Parking is available on the road. There is full access to the cottage via self check in with a key found in the lock box. Once you are in and settled we will leave you to your own devices. There are information packs about the apartment and the area, as well as useful numbers to call should you require assistance. This picturesque Cotswold Village is set amongst the rolling Cotswold hills, valleys and commons. Avening has two pubs, both serving food and both have seating in the front to catch the afternoon and evening sun. Simon House is in the heart of Avening. From Simon House you can drive, cycle or walk in four directions. Three miles away is the Fair trade town of Nailsworth. Here you will find the Cotswolds most established fish shop and restaurant 'Williams' and many other restaurants, health food and clothes shops as well as a supermarket. Three miles away is Tetbury, a town with antique shops, restaurants and coffee shops. The village of Minchinhampton, is two miles away, on the way there you will pass one of the several golf courses in the immediate area. Four miles away from Minchinhampton is the town of Stroud. Stroud is a thriving free trade town. SVA, Stroud Valley Arts is based there and the co-creators of SVA have added to the arts and music scene in Stroud with two venues to explore and delight in. Also, Stroud offers Stroud Yoga Space a centre for yoga, relaxation and mindfulness and every Saturday the multi award winning Stroud Farmers Market known as one of the biggest, busiest and best farmers markets in the UK. Stroud Station is the nearest mainline train station, two hours from London Paddington. By car Stroud Station is 15 minutes drive. You need a car, motor bike or bike to easily get about this area. Although once you had arrived in Avening you could get about on foot, exploring the walks and foot paths that weave throughout the five Stroud Valleys. There is a cycle path that links nearby Nailsworth to Stonehouse for instance.
