The Hill Station is in the heart of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, immediately adjacent to the Mt. Tomah Botanic Gardens. The renovated cabin is set in an acre of gardens and is an ideal retreat for a couple. The cabin has a Living/Bedroom area with one queen bed, a sunny Kitchen and a new Bathroom. There are cafes nearby, the Botanic Gardens are a short walk, and the main towns of the Blue Mountains are 20 minutes drive away. The land is steep - getting up to the cabin from the driveway involves quite a lot of steps. Around the cabin itself is level and there is an option for access if you can't manage the steps - talk to us about this. This is not a wilderness retreat, you are on the main road and next to the Botanic Gardens so there is traffic noise at times - in between it is very quiet. The weather in the mountains is unpredictable - and it does get cold up here - however if you are prepared, Mt. Tomah in the rain or in winter is very beautiful. In the current circumstances you can be quite self-sufficient in the cabin if you bring food and wine - walk in the garden, go for a bush walk, you won't need to see anyone. The cabin is on tank water so please be mindful. The whole property. We live in the area and are available if you have any problems. The cabin has everything you need for a weekend retreat. The power can be unreliable in bad weather so there is a back-up generator which is required to run the water pump. The Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens is next door - and you can spend a day walking the grounds and the rain-forest walk. Venture further west to Mt.Banks and the bush walking tracks of the spectacular Grose Valley. (some easy and some hard) Mt.Wilson for autumn colour and springtime flowering is also close and worth a visit at any time of year. Then go further on to the towns of the Blue Mountains. Remember that the best places are off the tourist trail. Public transport is not an option on the Bells Line of Road, so it is car access only effectively. We can organise a pick up from the railway station at Mt Victoria or Bell if you plan to just stay around Mt. Tomah and the gardens - but you probably do need a vehicle to make the most of the mountains. Follow "The Hill Station" on (Hidden by Airbnb) @ hillstation_mounttomah
