Cabbage Tree Corner is well equipped for guests to enjoy the holiday dream with a 5 minute walk to 3 beautiful swimming beaches. The garden is an oasis full of many places to sit and enjoy a coffee or bring your own cheese platter. Only a 25 minute drive to the Christchurch CBD or a 7 minute drive to the Lyttelton Saturday Market. Well insulated, double glazed and with central heating, you will be cosy and warm. Plenty of privacy and a garden to enjoy. Friendly hosts live onsite. The rooms have a separate entrance which is easily accessed from the gently sloping driveway. There are 2 separate bedrooms, a sofa bed in the spacious living room, dining room, bathroom, kitchenette for food preparation. Sink, fridge freezer, microwave, mini grill oven, gas hob with BBQ grill plate is located outside under a sheltered veranda/ patio. As the property is not within walking distance of any shops or regular bus services you will need to have a motor vehicle. Christchurch Airport is an easy 35 - 45 minute drive away. This is a great place for a New Zealand holiday, with both the city of Christchurch and Banks Peninsula easily accessible. A choice of great cafes, restaurants, bars and shops in nearby Lyttelton. There is so much to do in this area; catch the Black Cat Ferry to Quail Island or Diamond Harbour, walk the local tracks, swim in the sea, ride the Gondola, visit the bike park, wander through Ohinetahe Gardens or call in for a beer at the Governors Bay Pub. These attractions are less than a 15 minute drive from the house. Nestled in a small valley, Cass Bay has it's own micro climate with very little easterly breeze, which is the prevailing summer wind in Christchurch and the Canterbury plains. Landscaped gardens have been 17 years in the making and are a fusion of tropical exotics and New Zealand native plants. Native birds flit about and sing sweetly in the garden. Fantails, bell birds, wax eyes, finches and more. I don't allow children for safety reasons. Guests have their own entrance with exclusive use of the ground floor, aside from a shared utility room. Access to all garden areas. On street parking. Lock box key safe. The lock box allows guests to self check in. Your hosts are happy to chat but will also respect your privacy. Hosts live on site. My must do recommendations are, a coffee at Lyttelton Coffee Company, a walk to Corsair Bay, a swim at Secret beach and a beer at the Governors Bay Hotel. For garden lovers a visit to Ohinetahe, a garden of national significance. Drive to Sumner Beach over the summit rd from Lyttelton, enjoy the harbour views on the way, then the rolling surf beaches of Sumner and Taylor's Mistake. You will need a motor vehicle. Cass Bay is a 45 minute walk away from the nearest store in Lyttelton. You will need to have your own transport. It is a 7 minute car journey to Lyttelton and via the Tunnel 15 minutes to the Christchurch shops at Ferrymead.
