Peaceful garden studio

A tranquil and private studio in the large, informal garden of our family home. Wake to the sound of birds and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere in our little piece of paradise not far from Sydney CBD. This private, spacious studio in our large, leafy garden is separate from the main house. It is a wonderfully peaceful spot on a sunny morning when you might be tempted to throw open the doors and enjoy an al fresco breakfast. Some basic breakfast supplies are provided and include bread, muesli, jam butter, fruit, milk, orange juice, tea and coffee. The studio has a reverse cycle heating/air conditioning system so is cosy in winter and cool in summer. It is comfortably furnished with a queen-size bed, pure cotton linen, two cane armchairs, TV, chest of drawers and generous hanging space. Among the other inclusions are a fridge, toaster, kettle, teapot, cafetiere, microwave, hairdryer and free wifi. The en suite bathroom has a heated towel rail, shower, loo and basin plus body wash, hand wash, shampoo and conditioner. We generally work from home so are usually around and happy to help you with anything you might need. A good selection of shops, including a Harris Farm greengrocer/deli, Woolworths supermarket, chemist, bakery, hair salon and a couple of cafes and takeaways, can be found 10 minutes’ walk away. There are many more shops and restaurants on Victoria Road, Gladesville, about two kilometres from our house. Our guests love having their own private space in the garden away from the main house. Access from the street is via a driveway at the side of our property. We try to make sure that at least one of is here to welcome our guests and, because we work from home, we're usually about. Having said that, we do respect our guests' privacy. Gladesville is on Sydney's lower north shore, close to the historic garden suburb of Hunters Hill. Our house is on a quiet street in a safe area with some lovely walks pretty much on the doorstep – the Field of Mars wildlife refuge, Boronia Park, Lane Cove River and Great North Walk. We are equidistant from Sydney CBD and Macquarie University – both about 15-20 minutes by car, or 25-30 minutes by bus – and 40 minutes’ drive from Sydney Airport (about $70 by taxi). St Joseph’s College boys’ school is also nearby and we are about 15-20 minutes by car from Sydney Olympic Stadium. There is plenty of free street parking and a regular bus service to the city from a bus stop just one minute's walk from our house. The bus journey into Sydney CBD takes about 20-25 minutes.
