El Rancho Grande

The Rancho Grande is located in the authentic village of Tinajo, next to the Timanfaya National Park, “Montañas Del Fuego”. The building is more than 300 years old and has been completely renovated in the year 2000. It has two open patios, which is typical for traditional buildings. Reception, breakfast room and the 5 'duplex' rooms all have direct access to the patio. All rooms have a living area and an individual bathroom on the ground floor, and a bedroom on the first floor. The breakfast room, with its distinct decoration, serves a succulent continental breakfast. We have a terrace with sunbeds, next to a lounge room overlooking the sea and the Island of La Graciosa, Montaña Clara and Alegranza on clear days. - Private parking - Free Wifi - Daily room service and towels - Breakfast included Rural tourism puts a large emphasis on the relationship between the host and the clients. We therefore want to assure you that any questions will be answered. All guests receive a complete briefing about the island. We will talk about gastronomy, fauna and flora, architecture, Volcanic Parks, Cesar Manrique, hidden beaches, alternative walks... The host has been on the island for more than two decades and has a lot of information that is not included in the guides. To guarantee an interesting day, some short advice will be given at the breakfast table. Is island is divided in 7 parts; 7 “municipios”, where Tinajo is the capital of one of these. Though rural, the village still disposes of basic services such as a bank, post office, medical centre, police, local restaurants, supermarket, pharmacy, paper and gift shop, ect. The center of Tinajo is less than a 5 minute walk away. We have bicycles for nearby visits. For general visits of the island, however, a hire car is essential. Public transport is limited. We also recommend hiring a car at the airport to avoid taxi fees. The national volcanic parks offer some amazing scenery. Walks can be done with just a briefing, but for some, our guidance is recommended. Fat bikes are available to be rented, and tours can be organized on request. We also have some kayaks; paddling excursions can be arranged, if sea and weather conditions allow.
