Cosy double bedroom with a Private Bathroom

A lovely old cottage with loads of character and style situated in the village of Ruardean in the forest of Dean Gloucestershire, England, to the west of Cinderford. It is situated on a hillside with views west towards the mountains of South Wales. Little now remains of the village's industrial history, but once it was a centre for iron ore smelting furnaces, forges and coal mines. There is a 900 yr old pub very close by which serves food. The bedroom has a dual aspect giving light and lovely views of the hills in the distance. It is right next to the luxurious bathroom with a free standing bath and shower. We recently moved here from Bristol and love the cosy cottage and all the surrounding countryside. We share the upstairs toilet during the night but the shower is not shared. we shower downstairs. We will provide the dining room or the terrace outside for guests to enjoy breakfast. We offer breakfast cereals, toast, tea and coffee. We aim to give our guests space to enjoy their time away and the local area. We like to suggest the best places to visit for walking, cycling, historical interest to the best if our knowledge. it's only 3K to Symonds Yat, where you can walk, climb or canoe on the river wye, with many pubs beside the river to enjoy. The forest is a 15 minute walk, where you can walk, cycle, mountain bike, etc. The river Wye is 2K down the hill from Ruardean and the river Severn is 9K in the other direction. Cinderford is 3K where we purchase most of our groceries but the historical market town Ross on Wye is only 6k a short drive. There are buses from the village to all these locations By car you can easily access all parts of the forest, Symonds Yat, Ross on Wye, Cinderford and Monmouth. Buses pass through the village to Gloucester, Ross, Monmouth, Cinderford and Coleford. The nearest train station is Lydney. it's 15 Mon walk to access the forest or the river Wye. We adhere to all the safety regulations in regards to Covid and offer the upstairs shower for guests only. We use the shower downstairs. However we will be sharing the upstairs toilet during the night.
