Sitting on 7 acres, just 10 minutes from downtown Margaretville, we are perfectly situated less than 15 minutes from everything you may need - skiing, hiking, wedding venues, etc. Our cozy cabin is the ideal place to hide away, recharge the battery and find peace & quiet on a private road. Enjoy the oversized deck, vast yard, basketball court, fire pits, spacious living area, river rock fireplace, fully stocked kitchen, expansive game room and comfortable bedrooms. The Country Cabin has over 2,800 sq ft of living space and an 1100 sq ft deck - the perfect space for a family or group of friends to relax, unwind and enjoy nature. Truly a four-season home, there are thoughtful options for entertaining, relaxing or being active. Enjoy your morning coffee on the oversized deck with great views of the Catskill mountains at sunrise or settle in with dinner and drinks as dusk settles over the mountains. The deck has gates at both entrances to keep kids and dogs inside and wildlife out. There is a dining table for eight, sectional sofa surrounding a fire pit and gourmet, 6-burner gas grill with side burner. Cozy up by a fire in the floor to ceiling river rock fireplace, the centerpiece of the open floor-plan living area with log walls and cathedral ceilings. There is a 65" flat screen TV, oversized L-couch and dining table for eight. The kitchen is fully stocked with a gas-burning stove, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, cutlery, utensils, cookware, pots & pans and anything else you might need - any cooks dream! There are two guest bedrooms on the first floor - "The Bear Cave" and "The Wolf Den" - both with gel memory foam queen mattresses and charming details. The guest bath has a tub and multi-function shower head. There is a pullout couch in the loft on the second floor, along with the master suite. The master bedroom has a gel memory foam California King bed, all-down couch and crib. The master bath has a stall shower. The basement has a comfortable lounge area with leather couches and a 55" flat screen TV. Both TV’s are loaded with basic channels, Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+, Apple TV and Amazon Prime with HBO, PBS and Starz. The game room includes foosball, a pool table, Batman pinball machine and dartboard. We've also got boardgames and yard games to choose from. The massive, manicured yard features two open areas for activities, a basketball court, swing set, horseshoes and fire pit! It's great for snowball fights in the winter and frisbee in the summer! Guests have access to the whole property. There are two closets in the basement and one in the master bedroom that are locked and off-limits. The garage and woodshed are also locked and off-limits to guests. We are happy to answer any questions and offer any help as needed during your stay. The house is equipped with August smart lock technology, so you will not need to meet anyone to enter and no keys to worry about! We are just 10 minutes from downtown Margaretville, where you will find a Foodtown grocery store, CVS, coffee shops, restaurants, liquor store, gas station, ice cream shop and more! We are located on a town-maintained, dead-end road, so lots of privacy - you're more likely to see wildlife than cars! For that reason, we ask all guests to respect our neighbors and the peace and quiet everyone comes up here for. ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES OR LOUD GROUPS. No guests beyond those approved for your stay. Hunting is strictly prohibited, as this is a residential area. The Country Cabin is close to everything, but you feel completely isolated from the outside world! While we have never encountered dangerous animals, guests should keep in mind that we are located behind 1,000 acres of protected forest. Food and trash should not be left outdoors, as it attracts unwanted wildlife. Small dogs should not be left unattended, as there are coyotes in the woods and large birds of prey overhead. We have families of deer and wild turkey’s that pass by almost daily and a groundhog that lives on the property.
