A charming cosy cottage with an Austrian sleigh bed, beams + balcony reached by spiral stairs. Sit up in bed and look through french windows over border countryside to the Cheviots on the horizon.Log burner, patio, garden,BBQ,tennis, river,WiFi. The cottage is heated by wood bio mass and is so cosy. Tennis court, river walks and farm walks on our organic farm and a 3 mile walk into Kelso, a wonderful market town + Floors Castle, the Border Abbeys and many stately homes and their tea rooms! A romantic little cottage for 2. It has a delightful beamed living room with a sumptuous Laura Ashley sofa beside the wood burning stove and sky TV. French - windows lead out to the south facing patio garden with BBQ and garden furniture. Well equipped galley kitchen with dining table. Bath room with overhead shower. Spiral stairs wind through the wooden beams to the sunny bed room, with a king-size Austrian sleigh bed, french windows and small balcony. Enjoy the sun rising and huge starry skies and admire the beautiful views across rolling farmland to the Cheviot Hills on the horizon. Plum Braes is on an organic Farm with an idyllic setting - The Cheviot hills are on the horizon to the south and the Eildon Hills and Hume Castle south and West. Berwick Train station is 30 minutes drive. There are taxi's to bring you to the cottage or you can hire a car. The key will be in the door so guests can arrive at their leisure, from 3 p.m. onwards. An estimated time of arrival is helpful. In winter the log burner will be on. The entire cottage is for you only and enjoy wonderful walks around our organic farm and pretty, meandering river. Enjoy the peace and quiet, only disturbed by a sky lark singing or and owl hooting. I live at the other side of the farm so happy to help with anything and also on e-mail and phone. The peace and quiet yet only 3 miles from the lovely market town, Kelso, with its Abbey and Castle, cobbled square and unique and special shops and eateries. two lovely garden centres also with restaurants of quality. Tennis court, lovely river walks through our organic farm, bird watching and wildlife. Lots to see and do only if you want to! Catch the London train to Berwick and taxi from there to Plum Tree or hire a car. Buses around the Borders. Kelso is only 3 miles so walking is fine as there is a good path all the way. Train from Edinburgh to Tweed bank and then bus or taxi to the cottage. This is a good way to see Edinburgh as no burden of a car while in Edinburgh. Parking is free at Tweedbank. Any length of stay is welcome. The cottage has folders with things to do in the Borders.
