Custom cabin by the river in Newfane, VT

OPEN mid-MAY-OCTOBER. Our beautiful one-room custom cabin (a.k.a. The Button) is on the edge of the woods surrounded by the babbling Rock River. It's freshly appointed, spotlessly clean and very romantic. The cabin has simple cooking facilities (details below) and an outdoor grill with bistro table and chairs, twinkle lights on the deck, hammock, and 2 fire-pits, one by the cabin, and one on the beach. Unique and private, this charming one-room 12’x16’ cabin is on the property of photographer Christine Triebert and designer/potter Carol Ross. It was built in 2010 with the timber from an ancient hemlock tree on our riverfront land. When our builder finished the cabin, he stood back and said, "It's cute as a button!" And from that day on, it's been "The Button". The fresh, contemporary accommodations include a king-size bed, bathroom with tiled shower, a mini-fridge, toaster, microwave, French Press coffee maker, electric tea kettle and a gas grill outside for preparing simple meals. There's a small built in table with 2 chairs. Carol's handmade branch hooks dot the walls for ample places to hang your things. Outside is a wrap-around deck with bistro table and 2 chairs, a gas grill, fire pit and comfy hammock. Free wi-fi. One COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST is included and brought to the cabin on your last morning. Enjoy Chris's homemade popovers, seasonal fruit, organic yogurt, and Brattleboro’s own True North Granola... The Rock River wraps around the property, and for rock hounds, this is a piece of heaven. There's an abundance of many beautiful and unusual rocks along the river bed. We've created many paths with cairns along the way and invite you add to them! Hiking, biking and kayaking are close by. We’re located in the village of South Newfane... 17 min. from the well- known arts town of Brattleboro, 20 minutes from Marlboro and Mt. Snow, and easily accessible from Boston and NYC. Rock River Cabin is in the charming rural village of South Newfane. Walk the main roads along the Rock River, or hike the hill roads for beautiful Vermont vistas. Restaurants and shopping are between 5-20 minutes away. - We have cat named Louie who is very afraid of dogs... so unfortunately, no pets allowed. - No smoking in or around the cabin. - We cannot accommodate children… sorry.
