Stunning stone house, Lochcarron
The Stone house at Loch Dubh is a brand new self catering holiday cottage situated in the grounds of our Croft and enjoys an enviable, elevated position overlooking Lochcarron. It is a perfect base to explore the West Coast, Isle of Skye or the NC500. The stone house is ideally situated to give you elevated views of the loch with the advantage of only a five minute walk to all village amenities without any of the traffic noise from the Main Street. It is built in the style of a traditional Bothy using reclaimed local materials. The ground floor has an open plan lounge with settees, satellite TV, DVD player and log burning stove. The dining tables seat 8 and the modern kitchen is fully fitted with all cooking utensils, oven, microwave, kettle, fridge, washing machine,toaster and ironing facilities. There is a double bedroom with fitted wardrobe and hairdryer and a fully fitted bathroom with power shower. A stone staircase leads to the upper floor where you find a twin bedroom and a family bedroom ( one double and two single beds). There is also a second fully fitted bathroom with power shower. The property is fully centrally heated and has free WiFi access. It is ideal for couples, families and friends travelling together, sleeping a maximum of 8. Larger groups can book my other listing stunning chalet, to then provide accommodation for up to 12 persons. Linen and towels are provided and a travel cot and high chair are available on request. Please note this is self catering only and no meals are provided. There is ample parking for up to three vehicles and you have exclusive use of the stone house. There is outdoor seating so you can enjoy the view and other seating areas in the main garden. We also have a lockable shed for bikes etc. The nightly price is based on two sharing and extra people are £15 per night up to 8 persons. The exact number of guests must be stated and paid for at the time of booking. Myself, my husband and two children live in the main house next door. We are available whenever needed to answer questions. We also have a friendly dog and sheep. The village of Lochcarron offers shops, petrol stations, post office, a Bistro, a cafe, a hotel and a golf course and just a short drive away you have Lochcarron weavers and Attadale Gardens. It is ideally located for day trips to the Isle of Skye, Applecross peninsula, Torridon and Plockton all under a 45 minute drive away. There are numerous walks and cycle routes for the more active guest and we are also on the now famous NC500 route. A car is recommended to make the most of the area. Strathcarron railway station is 3 miles away and Inverness airport 70 miles away. All linen, towels, basic essentials, tea and coffee and logs are provided.
