Enjoy country living while only 5 minutes from the motorway accessing all kinds of attractions: golf courses, beaches, shopping, parks, Glasgow city centre, restaurants and tourist attractions. Our detached 1-bed house is suitable for couples, families, singles and friends. Keen golfers have several top courses locally to choose from. A lovely, detached 1-bedroom house sleeping up to 4 people. The king size bed can be split to make a twin room and there is additional sleeping in the living room (double sofa bed) for other adults or children if required. A travel cot is also available for infants upon request (free of charge with appropriate bedding; you've got enough to worry about!). The bedroom has a substantial electric heater for the winter nights. The kitchen comprises oven, hob, washing machine, fridge, microwave plus all appropriate kitchenware for self catering. The living room has a beautiful wood burning stove as a centre piece and will keep you cozy in the cooler nights. Complete with TV/DVD, although we recommend playing games and cards together (provided). The 3-piece bathroom includes electric shower, toilet and sink. The house has patio doors at the back leading to a decked area. There is a seating area here too. The use of a BBQ can also be made available with advance notice. You have exclusive use of the house which includes free driveway parking at the front and a decked area in the back. You can also have use of a large astro turf playing area if you wish. We are both teachers and will largely be available during the school holidays. We live in the main house next door and can be contacted if required for emergencies, local information or just to have a chat! We are 2 miles from the main town of Newton Mearns in a beautiful spot with fantastic views. We have no immediate neighbours and enjoy our local wildlife, particularly the horses across the road. There are tremendous golf courses ranging from 1 mile away (East Renfrewshire Golf Club) to across Glasgow and the west. We are on a very popular road for cyclists, so that is one way to travel from A to B or indeed to take in the views. Other than that, a car is required to access all the main routes locally. During school holidays, a drop-off service (to a bus/train route for example) may be available at an additional cost - please ask about this if required. Taxis are readily available within the area as are car rental companies (e.g. Enterprise in Giffnock is a 10 minute drive away). There is a train station (Patterton) just over 2.5 miles away. Towels and bedding are provided for you free of charge along with other household basics (toilet roll, kitchen roll, dish cloth etc.) Some other basics will also be provided for your first two nights to ensure you are comfortable and can relax without rushing to the shops: tea/coffee, shampoo and wood (for the fire). If you have an extended stay, please provide your own wood when ours runs out (these can be purchased on site if required).
