Perched atop a quaint hill, The Treehouse is surrounded by the spectacular landscapes of Sahayadri, offering an epic panorama of the valley of Marayoor. Close to the Sandalwood forest and Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary, The Mudhouse offers a tranquil escape from reality. Here, time moves unhurriedly, slowly painting the sky a different hue each passing hour. The eco-friendly constructed tree and mud cottages reflect barefoot luxury, helping you stay rooted to Earth but still be close to Heaven. The Treehouse is the latest project of The Mudhouse Marayoor. Made on top of a living tree, the home is completely sustainable and utilises locally sourced wood, cococnut leaves, mud and other materials.The Mudhouse is a passion project that came out of the need to live and encourage sustainable living practices. Practicality has limited us from going to some extends but the property will always be a work in progress towards being closer to nature. The Mudhouse offers a treehouse and 4 mud cottages. The treehouse has a bedroom, a large balcony and an open-roof bathroom. Kindly note that while the bedroom is on the second floor, the balcony and the washroom are both on first floor. Witness the beauty of the sun rising through the window of your bedroom or while relaxing with a steaming cup of chai in the living space. The property also has a shared kitchen, common dining area and lounge where the guests can have their food or play games. Guests can also opt to have BBQ and campfire in the evening. Guests can also opt for a romantic candlelight dinner atop the Treehouse during their stay. The property also contains a free parking area within its premises. I maybe away, but we have our caretakers Aman and Shehza who love to interact with guests and help them throughout the duration of their stay. My mom, Mrs Pushpa, will also be there to assist you. Visit us to have a slow vacation. Spend your days lazing, watching the mist hovering over the mountains. On a warm day, watch the birds roaming the skies and life springing up all around you. A 10 minutes hike from the property through a forest trail will take you to a view point from where one can enjoy a 360 degree view of the agricultural valley of Marayoor. Explore the wilderness and even catch a glimpse of deers and bison grazing. A 40 minutes hike from the property beside a canal will take you to a river hidden in the forest. Take your book or even have a picnic (without littering ofcourse). One can also take a dip in the crystal like water and fall in love with the peacefulness of it all. In the evening, ride through the village on the cycles provided at the property. If you're late, you might even get a glimpse of a swarm (sparkle) of fireflies in the fields nearby. For those wishing to just stay and laze at our property, we have a tiny collection of books and board games that you can peruse at your convenience. Thoovanam waterfalls, a stunning cascade inside Chinnar wildlife sanctuary is just 20 minutes away from the property. Go on a drive to visit Anamudi Peak, Chinnar or the centuries old, Muniyara. We can help with arranging cabs or autos for sightseeing. Hide Marayoor town is 5 Kms from the property. Public transportation will be available from there. One can also hail an autorikshaw or cab. We provide cycles at the property. Guests can take a ride through the village or explore the sandalwood forest. We are located at Marayoor, 30 Kms from Munnar Junction.
