Maple Ridge Guest Apartment

This brand new apartment was added to the back of our detached garage. Low or no VOC products were used throughout construction. Brand new appliances installed with an oven big enough to cook the biggest turkey I’ve ever dreamed of. Spectacular ridge top views and beautiful starry nights. Hiking and cross country ski trails on the property of about 75 acres. Pick hazelnuts in the fall, collect and boil your own maple sap in the spring and pick blueberries in the summer. There is additional space in the loft area for older children to sleep on camping pads-bring your own sleeping bags. Linens are provided for the queen size sofa sleeper. Along with staying in the apartment, guests are welcome to explore our 75 acres that are adjacent to DNR property. You can hike or cross country ski on forest and prairie trails. Some of the best flyfishing in Wisconsin is right down the road. Parking for 2 cars is available at the base of the stairs leading to the guest apartment Winter reservations PLEASE NOTE: We are on a ridge top with a long driveway that has sections with an 8% grade. Our AWD Subaru Outback gets up the hill in 6” of snow with no problems. Our plow service is generally here in 4 hours and has salt and sanding equipment. If we really get bad weather (heavy snow/freezing rain) we just wait for the service to come or go up and down the hill in our enclosed ATV with chains...country livin’. ;-) We’ll work with you to get you where you need to be but just want you to know there may be delays We live on the property and are available to chat and give advice on local activities. Guest apartment is 3 miles outside of Viroqua. In town there is the Wonder State coffeehouse, the Viroqua food co-op, the Driftless Cafe, and the historic Temple theater with a wide variety of entertainers coming thru town. Ride share service is spotty in the driftless zone so plan on your own car or the Viroqua taxi 3 telescopes are available for use on those dark sky nights; an 8” Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain; an 11” Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain on a Losmandy Go To mount and a Zenithstar APO 73mm refractor on a Skywatcher AZ-EQ5 Go To mount. Contact host ahead of time if you would like to view them. A connector for your Canon DSLR is available for all three instruments.
