Easy Driving Distance for Perfect Family Getaway! Easy to use and enjoy vacation getaway property. Perfect Place to Unwind for Family Groups who have been cooped up at home too long . . . and who enjoy swimming. . . . Indoors! We are COVID-19 trained by the American Hotel and Lodging Association - "Safe Stay" program. Larger Groups can rent the pool house and the Littlebranch houses together on 11 acres! The Mettawee house is best suited for up to eight people. Enjoy an in-ground, indoor heated pool that is for your exclusive use during your stay. The pool room is surrounded by windows and sliding doors, allowing easy access to the patio and deck areas and spectacular mountain views. 2021 brings a beautiful new outdoor patio adjacent to the pool room. There are three private bedrooms and a family room with a pull-out bed that can be converted into a private room if needed. There are two full baths in the house, one being 'en suite' off of the master bedroom on the first floor and the other situated between the two bedrooms on the upper floor. There is one half bath centrally located off of the pool room. Each bedroom in the house has a bedside table, reading light, and overhead lighting. We are available to answer any questions you may have. The house is set up to be user friendly and easy to use. Shortly before your arrival, we will provide you with instructions for accessing the house. An ideal place to experience new sights and sounds, a strong, clean breeze, and stunning night time views, the Littlebranch property will transport you to an environment free of car traffic, noise and crowds. A five minute drive takes you to the heart of the amazing Big Branch Wilderness Area and, a little further, the spectacular White Rocks Recreation Area, both located in the Green Mountain National Forest. The house is located in a valley sandwiched between the Green Mountain National Forest to the east, Dorset Mountain to the South, and the Colvin Hill area of Danby, Vermont to the west. The house is located on approximately 5 acres of rolling hills, with gorgeous views of the mountains. The fields surrounding the houses are cut two or three times a year to feed local livestock. Wildlife abounds here; the White Pines, Birch, and other trees are homes to many varieties of birds. There are owls, hawks, hummingbirds and more to complement the usual suspects - blue jays, goldfinches, nuthatches, chickadees, blue birds, and others. Coyotes are heard at night, and there are deer and a few resident Black Bear. A short stay here provides a glimpse of a simpler way of life than many are unaccustomed to. The land here is relatively undeveloped, and provides a livelihood for many of its residents. The weather is can be unpredictable - clear and sunny one minute, and windy with a downpour the next, followed by a rainbow and sunny skies. The night sky is unlike any you have seen before. Be prepared to see some incredible stars! The house is located outside of the very small town of Danby, but only a one mile drive from the main road, Route 7. There are houses visible in the distance, but the house is very private, quiet, and peaceful and located on five acres. Please note: there is a $100 pet fee that is applied per pet, per stay. This will not be reflected in the booking price until AFTER you make the reservation. I manage two neighboring properties (Mettawee Pool House & Littlebranch) that can be rented together for large groups (up to 20 people). This listing is exclusively for the Mettawee Pool House, but please let me know if you are interested in renting both homes together: The properties together make for an outstanding family compound reunion.
