A chilled luxury festival style bell tent. Romantic getaway for 2 or relaxing family escape for 4. Unique setting on snail farm in West Buckland, on edge of area of outstanding natural beauty. Entire paddock to yourselves (except snails & ponies!). Walks in the Blackdown Hills without driving. Perfect place to explore Jurassic coast, Somerset levels. Private kitchen area & bathroom. Local deli for essentials. 4 miles to Wellington, for supermarkets, farm shops & great places to eat out. You will be our only guests on the snail farm. Our spacious bell tent has a festival vibe, with scattered rugs, bunting & fairy lights. Enjoy al fresco eating on your rustic picnic table, with barbecue or single ring gas stove and beautiful view. For chilly evenings a wood-burning stove warms your off grid canvas home and to boil water for your first morning cuppa. Ottomans provide a place to store your clothes, keeping the boho chic space tidy. Very comfortable double bed and 2 single mattresses. A short 20 second walk through the paddock to your private kitchen area and bathroom. The kitchen has charging points, microwave, kettle and toaster, plus a sink with hot running water to do your washing up. For outdoor cooking a single ring gas stove is provided. The kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery, crockery & pots and pans. Plus a full size fridge to keep your produce fresh. A large private bathroom with toilet and sink and a recently fitted shower. Our location is extremely convenient for exploring the whole of the South West. You will be on J26 of the M5 within minutes. This does mean that we have noticeable traffic noise in our paddock. However, we find that once settled in and enjoying your beautiful surroundings this fades into the background. You will have access to your own parking space, the bell tent and indoor kitchen area and bathroom. These are all exclusive to you. We live in the house adjacent to the paddock. We work from home and are around most of the time, so a knock on the door should find us! We will greet you on arrival and help you to settle in. There is so much to explore in the area. Right here, in West Buckland we are on the edge of the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty and there are many walks to explore without having to drive anywhere - we can advise on a few routes. The country lanes are enjoyed by cyclists and we are on the Taunton cycle route. The nearest beach in Exmouth is 35 minutes drive, a bustling seaside town with parking right next to wide, open beaches. Access to a wide variety of coastline is very easy - Lyme Regis a lovely traditional seaside town, with a seafront promenade, lined with fabulous seafood restaurants and fish and chip stands. Enjoy the beach and visit the zoo at Paignton. Visit Porlock with it's quaint town and stony beach and from there you are within easy reach of Exmoor for more windswept walks. View Verity a Damien Hirst statue at the quay in Ilfracombe. This is just a selection of coastal places within 35 mins to an hour and a half away from our location. Wimbleball lake with water sports and safe canoeing 40 minutes away. The nearest pub, The Worlds End is 1.5 miles away. The Apple Bar at Sheppys a little further on (also a Cider farm and farm shop) and Wellington town, just 4 miles away has a great selection of places to eat, including indian, chinese and pizza. Taunton 5 miles has a fabulous independent quarter and more places to eat. Exeter 35 mins has a beautiful riverside quay, cathedral & vintage shops galore. Glastonbury is 45 mins away. There are public footpaths and bridleways right from the front door (we can advise), but you'll need a car, or to catch a bus or train for most of the beaches and towns. The nearest bus stop is 1.5 miles away and has half hourly buses to take you into Wellington and Taunton. This is walkable in the daylight and with safety lights at night as this is a lane without a footpath. The train station in Taunton has trains to Exeter and to coast towns of Dawlish and Exmouth. Further travel will take you to Plymouth and Penzance. In the other direction to Bristol and coastal town Weston Super Mare. You can even be in London within 1 hour and 45 mins. This is a fabulously convenient location, with easy access to moors, hills, coast, town and cities. We're close to the M5 which means you will experience some traffic noise.
