Historic Western Crib-house with an updated, cozy interior + front porch! Sitting at the foot of Mt Elbert in historic Twin Lakes, CO, this cabin is perfect for one! Whether you decide to partake in one of the area's adventures (or just soak in the quiet beauty) stargazing + a cool mountain breeze await! There is an extra cleaning fee of $25 if you bring a dog, NO doggie scent in this cabin for guests, promise! Lake County Rental License: # (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) A true "wild-west" structure dating from the (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) s. We believe this is the oldest building in town. This cabin has its own front porch, and we gladly provide you with your own off-street parking spot! Originally, a western "Cribhouse" was just a place to sleep, attached to a larger house (which had the necessary amenities and a shared space, kitchen, etc). This particular Cribhouse is special: the interior now provides all the amenities a person would need, plus an old west vibe (with an antique crystal chandelier, mirrors, and fun oil painting to boot)! Kitchen: Gas range and oven, copper kitchen sink, granite countertops (with space to prep dinner), half fridge and freezer perfect for one (see pics). All stainless pots and pans, toaster, coffee maker, and pretty much any utensil you'd need to create a delicious meal! We also provide you with your own grilling utensils to use with our charcoal grill. Dining: A handmade, sturdy, collapsible oak dining table large enough for two, with wooden chairs to match tucked away but easily accessible. When the table is flipped down, you have more than enough floor space for even the most complex yoga poses! .75 Bath: Small shower for one (with hot water, of course!), toilet, copper bathroom sink, and lots of shelving for your belongings! Sleeping area: An extra-long memory foam/coil hybrid mattress sits on a solid wood day trundle bed (big enough for lots of clothes and other belongings). The mattress and pillows are first zipped in to antimicrobial covers, then outfitted with crisp white 100% pima cotton sheets, finally topped with blankets and comforter! Super comfy. Storage: additional cabinets and drawers are in the cabin to help keep your belongings organized! Dogs: Sorry, but we have to charge a little more per night if you are bringing a dog, since he/she is a second guest! This also gives us extra time to clean, as it makes our job cleaning a little more involved for the next guest. PLEASE let us know if you are bringing a dog with you :D Hangin' out and auxiliary: The XL twin solid wood day bed doubles as a sofa! It has a very supportive back and sides, then outfitted with lots of pillows so you can sit up comfortably to read, or stream tv/movies on the 24" flat screen tv with Roku! In addition to your private front porch, you have access to a patio that is shared with another cabin that houses up to 2 people (their cabin also has a private outdoor area for their own use, so the patio is just a bonus for whomever wants to hang out there with a book, large enough for all to be there with a good distance)! *ENHANCED CLEANING ROUTINE IN LIGHT OF THE COVID-19 EPIDEMIC* As confirmed in our reviews, we have always been devoted to offering an extremely clean, comfortable, easy space. We've been licensed through the Lake County Public Health Agency as a Safe Lodging space. The license certifies that we are diligent on following necessary measures to protect customer, employee, and public Health (outlined as Lake County's Safe Lodging Checklist). We aim for complete transparency, so if you request we will send you more information on our methods. We also follow AIRBNB's newest cleaning protocols https://www.airbnb.com/resources/hosting-homes/a/cleaning-guidelines-to-help-prevent-the-spread-of-covid (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Please message us with any questions about any of the above information! :D You have sole access to your entire cabin and covered deck, plus one reserved off-street parking spot. There is also an additional patio, which may be shared if someone is staying in another cabin. The space is yours while you rent from us, and we will always be on-call for you via phone. We provide a lockbox so you can retrieve/return your key with a personalized code when you check in & out! The quaint village of historic Twin Lakes retains the laid back and relaxed feel of Old Colorado, which is why we love it! Our neighbors are very quiet and respectful, and many vacationers have been visiting Twin Lakes for years to relax and soak in the beauty. You will need a vehicle to get to Twin Lakes, but once here, walking around is easy, and locals are devoted to keeping Historic Twin Lakes as pedestrian-friendly as possible. The lakes are very close by: walkable or drivable, depending on where you want to hang out or experience! Some hiking trails are literally steps from our property (a trail to Mt. Elbert is just outside our door, and the Willis Gulch trailhead is 2 miles away). The Moache fishing site is a 6-minute walk (.25 miles), and about a mile for a boat tour. There are places to rent canoes or kayaks, equipment for fishing, buy bait, etc, and lots to explore- like a former 19th-century luxury resort across the lake that you can paddle or drive or hike to. There is also a visitors center run by local volunteers, food trucks on weekends, and an art gallery! If there is something specific you wish to do, please feel free to ask us! In terms of businesses, just 2 blocks away is a Lodge that serves delicious "American-style" food and drinks, as well as a quaint country general store that offers gas, staple groceries, books, gifts and sundries (there are larger grocery stores etc in other towns nearby, milage is in the "getting around" section)! You will need a vehicle to get to Twin Lakes, and the drive is AMAZINGLY beautiful, so prepare yourself! There is no public transit at this time, so we recommend having a car in case there is a hike or place you want to explore outside of town (...a ghost town, maybe?) Please see "overview" for more local details! If you need more than 1 parking space, then please let us know so we can figure out some options for you. Otherwise, Twin Lakes is: 17 miles from Independence Pass and the Continental Divide 37 miles from Aspen (just over the Pass) 22 miles from Leadville (county seat) 26 miles from Buena Vista 50 (highway) miles from Salida
