Situated in the quaint and beautiful walled town of Barchi nestled on a hilltop, Casa 'Vista Panoramica" offers all modern comforts within a historic setting. This home provides clean and comfortable living space for 4 people, 2 bedrooms, 2 shower rooms, an open-plan kitchen and living space, and a rooftop terrace with superb views to the Apennine mountains and the Adriatic Sea. Perfectly situated 15 mins drive from the sea, there are also many fascinating day trips within easy reach. Casa 'Vista Panoramica" is a sympathetically restored traditional town house which probably dates back to before the 14th century, when it may have served as a strategic look-out point. It's unique position in Barchi means guests can enjoy spectacular views of the stunning countryside. The interior is traditional in style, with terracotta flooring throughout and part plaster, part exposed brick walls. The ground floor consists of a small open-plan kitchen (well equipped - including dishwasher, coffee machine etc), dining area, lounge area (with TV, DVD, Stereo). There is also a ground floor shower room. On the first floor there is another shower room, and two simply furnished, clean and comfortable airy bedrooms with double beds. Off the main bedroom is a (lockable) door leading to the upper staircase, the mezzanine area (where there is a sink and washing machine) and the rooftop terrace beyond. The terrace has roof openings on three sides and is furnished with teak lounge furniture (cushions are kept on the mezzanine). It is the ideal place to sunbathe, enjoy a drink, or watch the sunset. Guests have exclusive use of the whole house. Minimal rental one week. You will be greeted by one of our local neighbours in Barchi, who will be on hand for any immediate questions or queries. The owner will also be available by phone if needed. Barchi is a quaint and largely unspoilt small medieval walled town, with cobbled streets and traditional houses. Barchi has a bar/cafe within the town walls, and outside the town walls, there is a bank, post office, restaurant and well-provisioned supermarket. More shops can be found in neighbouring Orciano (3 kms), which also has a public open-air swimming pool. Nearby Mondavio, another medieval walled town, offers a handful of good restaurants and bars as well as a and a private swimming pool within a local hotel (open to non-guests, subject to dining at the hotel). The beach can be accessed at Fano (15 mins drive), which offers clean sand and shallow swimming. Fano is an elegant Roman town, offering some chic shopping as well as bars and restaurants. Numerous interesting day trips can be done from Barchi, for example to Gubbio, Urbino and the Grotte di Frassasi, all within about an hour's drive. Convenient arrival airports are Ancona (1 hour), and Bologna (1.5 hours). A regular bus service operates between Barchi and Fano. Bringing a car is the best option to enjoy the Marche region. Car parking is available at the front of the property. There is plenty of parking in front of the house.
