Trixie - 1973 VW Campervan for Self Drive Hire

Meet Trixie our 1970s Right Hand Drive classic VW camper available for self drive hire in Cornwall. She is a dream to drive and always brings a smile to our faces when we are road tripping around Cornwall in her. Trixie sleeps 2 adults with a full width pull out double bed she has a two ring gas hob and sink with running water. She also comes with an awning to provide a little bit more outdoor room should you need it. She may have a retro interior but Trixie does have a few mod cons available, a stereo system with aux cable so you can plug in music from your phone and two usb charge point on the front dashboard. Also included 240v mains electric hook-up and a leisure battery. Once plugged into an electric hook up there are a further 2 plug sockets available for your use. Driving a VW T2 is an amazing experience that will surely bring a smile to your face, especially driving around the gorgeous scenery that Cornwall has to offer, but this is very different from driving a modern car. With technology that is now over 40 years old, you really do have to drive Trixie as there is no power steering, no servo assisted brake and suspension from another era. Don’t worry we will make sure you are comfortable with driving and all the controls when you come to pick her up. The main thing to remember is just take your time when parking, reversing or turning to allow for the extra weight on the steering. Trixies home is in Falmouth a popular seaside town in Cornwall, plenty of beach locations and campsites in the local areas, but also only a 45 min drive to the popular coastal towns of St Ives or Newquay. Self Drive Hire Insurance and RAC breakdown cover included with hire for your safety and peace of mind. Drivers must be aged 23 to 75 with 2 years UK/EU licence. Drivers must have no more than 2 points on their licence at the time of hire, we will ask for evidence of this 7 days before hire and again at the the time of hire. We will also need to take a copy of you liscence and 2 utility bills no more than 3 months old as proof of address on collection. Optional Extras: We can provide the following at an extra cost: Bed Linen £20 per stay Chemical Toilet and Privvy Tent £30 per stay - n.b must be bought back empty and clean. Inflatable Paddle Board £10 per night. Any extras can be paid for by bank transfer on collection. N.B Due to Coronavirus restrictions on travel Cornwall is getting very booked up, it is advisable to make sure you can book spaces on campsites for the time you choose to hire. We can help to recommend locations if needed. This hire is for self drive only and vehicle is to be collected and driven to a campsite or driven within Cornwall. You will not be able to stay at vehicle location. You will be able to leave you car on our driveway when you pick up Trixie. Helen grew up in Falmouth and has a great knowledge of the local area, as a child she spent her summers camping all over Cornwall and has some great advice and recommendations for campsites all over the county. We can arrange to pick up guests from Penmere train station free of charge. We require a £550 security deposit on the day or before via a bank transfer. Note: the vehicle will be provided with a full tank of petrol and must be returned with a full tank. A £50 refueling charge will be collected if this condition of hire is not met.
