Snow’s Orchard Guesthouse is ideal for walkers located just 5 minutes walk from the SW Coast Path and Coleridge Way. There is a drying room and we can provide packed lunches for our guests. This room is bright and has lovely coastal views. This location is ideal for car-free exploration. Local buses enable you to complete the first 2 stages of the coast path from here. This makes for an ideal weekend away or short break avoiding the need to carry heavy bags or arrange for baggage transfer. This double ensuite room is light and airy with morning and early afternoon sunshine. There are tea and coffee making facilities with 2 comfortable chairs to relax and enjoy the coastal views. Parking is available on site. Breakfast is included in the price and there are healthy buffet and cooked options. Special diets can be catered for. West Porlock is a small, peaceful coastal hamlet in the east of Exmoor National Park. The villages of Porlock and Porlock Weir are about a mile away and have lots of shops, pubs and eateries. The hamlet overlooks a wide sweeping stony beach with Hurlstone Point to the east. Behind the beach there is a saltmarsh nature reserve created from lowland when the shingle embankment was breached by the sea in the 1990s. Behind the marsh there is a wide rural vale with Bossington Hill in the distance. To the west of the hamlet the ground rises steeply through woods to moorland which extends to Lynmouth and beyond. This location is ideal for leaving your car at the guesthouse (should you wish to) and enjoying the opportunity to explore on foot, by bicycle or bus. A popular choice among our guests doing the SW coast path is to base yourselves here at Snows Orchard for 2 or 3 nights and use the local buses (no. 10 from West Porlock to Minehead and Exmoor Coaster from Porlock to Lynmouth) to complete the first 2 stages of the coast path. This makes for an ideal weekend away or short break avoiding the need to carry heavy bags or arrange for baggage transfer. We can also provide packed lunches for each days walking. We have also scoped out a collection of other local walks, of varying lengths and difficulty, which can be completed with or without public transport. These enable our guests to explore less well known walking trails during their stay.
