B & B in the foothills of Mt Pilatus, Lucerne

A double bedroom in a near 180-year old house in the foothills of the mountains near Lucerne. As you enter the room, experience the unique entrance bending your head getting a feel for how much shorter our forefathers used to be. A mere 25 minutes from the centre of Lucerne, in stunningly beautiful countryside at an altitude of 800 m, you'll find us situated in the small village of Schwarzenberg. It is so peaceful here, you can't but help feel relaxed! A double bedroom is a double bedroom! Whether enjoyed by one or two! No extra charge! The breakfast room is available to you, any time of day; the dining table offers convenient work space with recharge points and a good wifi connection. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and water are complimentary. Enjoy access to your own terrace. Should you have been en route for a number of days and packed light, washer and dryer are available on request, at a fee. Access to breakfast room and shared utility room throughout the day. Generally speaking, there should be someone at hand throughout the day. We like to take care of our guests; offer them advice and recommendations about things to do and places to eat helping them make the most of their stay! A paradise for walkers, with over 100 km of trails, early spring through late autumn! Should there be snow on the ground, as is usual in winter, strap on the snow shoes (not provided by us) to follow these trails. Alternatively, we're less than ten minutes' drive from a beautiful 17 km-long Nordic ski run (classic and skating) with possibilities as well for a well-lit evening run. If you're a keen biker, bring along your mountain bike to enjoy a vast array of marked bike routes. We've got a covered and enclosed area where you can store your bike. Schwarzenberg may be a small village, but we're spoilt for choice where restaurants are concerned. As the locals are particular about good fresh food, you can dine extremely well, with trout, beef and venison even produced locally! New! Due to new bus schedule far-improved accessibility!!! However, do still keep in mind we're in a small village up the mountain. That having been said, it only takes 25 - 30 mins to get to the centre of Lucerne! Whether by car or by public transportation. During the day, until 23.00, there is an hourly bus that connects with trains to Lucerne. Limited bus service on Sundays. On weekdays and Saturdays, last train from Lucerne to connect with last bus up is at 23.15; on Sundays, last connection at 20.15. The bus stop is less than 3 minutes' walk, at the bottom of the street. Coming by car, we have on-site parking, free of charge. Please note, though in beautiful surroundings, we may not be wholly ideally situated for those interested only in being in the city. - Breakfast is served from 8.30 - 9.30 a.m. - Please note that we do not offer any cooking or kitchen facilities. - We are out in the country and easily accessible by car. - If using public transport, there is an hourly connection with Lucerne * on weekdays and Saturdays last connection from Lucerne at 23.15, * on Sundays last connection from Lucerne at 20.15. - Please do realise, it is an old house, built in the time when people were shorter so the ceilings are somewhat lower than modern-day houses. It is an important feature of our history so very much worth preserving!
