Our gorgeous first floor studio 'Darley' is located in a heritage listed, secure, Art Deco building in the heart of Darlinghurst. It is beautifully renovated, has high quality furnishings and is a bright and comfortable space that makes the most of it's tiny footprint. Perfect for couples or solo visitors, great transport options and walking distance to; St. Vincents - 5 mins CBD - 20 mins Kings Cross - 10 mins Paddington / Surry Hills - 10 mins Taylor Square / Oxford Street - 5 mins 'Darley' is a cosy space, with polished wooden floors and terrific storage spaces. The entire home is renovated to a high specification that respects its heritage. The living space has a full queen bed, a 2 seat sofa plus a dining / study nook. A Sony smart TV and unlimited internet are also within the main space. The renovated bathroom contains a Miele Washer / Dryer so no need to worry about laundry facilities. The kitchen is full sized and well equipped with stone bench tops, Miele fridge/ freezer and a gorgeous Belfast sink. A Nespresso machine is there for our coffee loving guest. We think that Darley offers you everything you need for a short or long stay and is a terrific alternative to a hotel. We have lived in and around the area for over 30 years, whilst your privacy is respected we are not too far away if you need us and if we are away our support team are always on hand. Darlinghurst is a safe suburb located only 1 km from the center of Sydney and like its neighbouring suburbs of Surry Hills and Paddington is known for its cafe and restaurant scene. It's also very close to Kings Cross and its lively nightlife. The suburb is one of the older areas of Sydney and as a result has plenty of heritage architecture such as Victorian Terraced housing and Art Deco apartments. Great coffee / cafes / restaurants are plentiful, a few of our favourites right at the door (but there are so many more) Little Bishop - 269 Victoria Street (opens at 6am) Fable Cafe - 128 Darlinghurst Road The Bunker - 399 Liverpool Street Rusty Rabbit - 252 Forbes Street Darlo Bar - 306 Liverpool Street Buffalo Dining Club - 116 Surrey Street Messina Gelato - 241 Victoria Street Another great local event is the Kings Cross farmers market every Saturday located next to the memorial fountain on MacLeay Street about 10 minutes walk. Transport links are really good, walk 5 minutes to Oxford Street to get buses to the beaches like Bondi in one direction or Sydney Harbour in the other. Kings Cross station is 10 minutes walk and from there you have access to the rail network - its only 2 stops to Central Station. There is no parking with the property and the local streets are metered with limited times given it is so close to St. Vincents Hospital and the city so transport and walking are your best bet. If you are coming from the airport you have the option of taxi / Uber or the train changing at Central for Kings Cross. As this is an heritage listed building Air Conditioning is not an option, we do supply a Dyson fan / heater and windows can be opened to allow the breeze through. There is no parking on-site and the local area street parking does have restrictions. As it is a studio you can expect a little noise transfer from people living above ( no joining walls though) and the occasional fire alarm all part of normal apartment living. The studio is on the first floor ( no lift access) so you need to be comfortable with a couple of small flights of stairs.
