Quaint Country Cottage close to centre of York
Min 2 nights for Feb only. 7 night min bookings. check in Friday only. Charming period cottage set in the beautiful village of Nether Poppleton, close to the centre of York. The cottage is a unique gem and has a gorgeous homely feel to it. It is ideally based for York centre/Harrogate and the spectacular Howardian Hills and Castle Howard and is only an hour's drive to the East coast. The stylish accommodation provides a double room with kingsize bed , a second bedroom with a double bed and a sun room off the dining room, with a single bed. The kitchen is fully equipped complete with dishwasher, oven, washing machine and microwave. There is a log burner in the lounge for those cosy nights in. One basket of logs will be provided and further logs can be bought. A bus stop is located across the road from the cottage for easy exploring and the train station and park and ride are only minutes away There are numerous pubs in the village serving pub food and various local shops. I can highly recommend the White Horse pub in the village, for dinner but you will need to book in advance. The village has a traditional maypole situated on the village green and our own little duck pond. Down Church Lane (1 minute from the cottage) you will find a beautiful church where Henry VIII allegedly married one of his six Free parking right outside the front door. Logs and hot drinks provided. There is a delightful south facing garden to the front of the property with outdoor seating, ideal for bbqs or relaxing in the sunshine. There are beautiful riverside walks on the doorstep together with a cycle path into York centre. Your hosts Caroline and Charlie will be delighted to help you with any queries or additional information required. The cottage is located in a beautiful quiet village 3 miles from the centre of York. Is located across the road from the Lord Nelson pub and is easy to find. There are a couple of pubs in the village serving food and beverages and a few local shops, including a butchers, co-op convenience store, tea room and post office. There is a bus stop opposite the property which runs frequently into York and surrounding areas. We also have a train station in the village with regular trains. For anyone wishing to use a "park and ride" we have two very nearby.
