Historic Pullman home with plenty of character, beautifully updated with close access to Chicago Loop. This lovely rustic styled home offers comfortable living space, dining room w/ fireplace, full kitchen, 3 bedrooms, office space and 1.5 baths. Enjoy the privacy of this entire two story home. The neighborhood was declared a National Monument in 2015. It is about 20 minutes travel time to downtown Chicago by car or train. Enjoy one of Chicago's most unique and diverse neighborhoods. First floor - Living room, dining room with fireplace, full kitchen with stainless steel refrigerator and stove. First floor also has a half bath. Second floor offers 3 bedrooms (master bedroom queen size bed sleeps 2/ small second bedroom queen size bed - sleeps 2), 3rd bedroom is set up as a workspace and includes a futon that sleeps 1. The common area has a small couch and a cot in the closet. There is also an air mattress in the closet. Second floor has updated full bath. House sleeps 6 total. Soft sheets and towels provided with extra blankets in closets. Access to entire house first and second floor (no access to basement area/storage area/garage). Access to heating thermostat, flat screen televisions, dvd player, window unit air conditioning, free wifi and Netflix. Also access to wireless printer great for printing boarding passes! Complete access to kitchen with stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, iron, seasonings, pots/pans, dishes/utensils. Guest will have complete privacy. The Pullman Historic District is a unique community, built in the 1880's as a planned model industrial town for the Pullman's Palace Car Company. The neighborhood still has many unique and interesting buildings that have been restored. Pullman was declared a National Monument in 2015 by President Barack Obama. Head to the National Monument visitors center for walking tours and more interesting facts about this very special area and its historical importance. There is a magnificent house tour every October which gives access to the interior of quite a few of these grand homes and buildings. Pullman cafe is located just around the corner and offers great coffee, sandwiches, salads and desserts. The bread pudding is definitely worth the trip over. Transportation: The Metra Electric train runs from Pullman to Chicago Loop. Only 20-30 minute ride. The Kensington/115th street or 111th street station is a quick 5-10 minute walk from the house. There is a $10 weekend pass available for the Metra train and kids ride for free with a paying adult. If your traveling by car to the Loop it's quick and easy via West on I-94 about 20 minutes depending on traffic. The expressways are located within a 3 minute drive from the home. Hairdryer and iron provided in the downstairs closet. Extra toilet paper, toothpaste and soap can be found in bathroom cabinet. Plenty of street parking in front of house. There is an Amazon Echo dot for additional assistance located in the living room area. We have an exterior front doorbell camera for delivery purposes and added security. Walmart is within 5 minutes for any food/supplies you may need as well as a few restaurants i.e. Pullman Cafe, One Eleven Food Hall, Cal-Harbor Breakfast Diner, Potbelly, McDonalds, etc.
