C House by the Sea: With Nature in Kashid

An ideal getaway in these times of COVID, nestled in an over 3-acre organic farm, overlooking rice fields and surrounded by forest. Independent, open and airy, you have exclusive access to C house, which is tucked inside a mango orchard with the inside and outside seamlessly merging into each other. Lounge on comfy cushions under a canopy of mango trees, get lulled by birdsong or walk in the garden. Kashid's famous white sand beach, is less than a five minute drive or a 15 minute walk away. You will have exclusive access to the entire house which is divided into two separate blocks. The dinning section, open on three sides and attached to a large spacious kitchen is a perfect setting for leisurely meals. An outdoor shower, taps and toilet helps to get the sand off from the beach before entering the main house. Nestled in between gnarled, old mango trees the upstairs is divided into a bedroom and a large lounge area with two separate decks. Walk down the stone steps and there are two more bedrooms on either side with picture windows overlooking a vista of forest and paddy fields. This is a ideal place to just hang out and relax but for the more adventurous our caretaker Vilas can arrange nature walks and treks in the Phansand game reserve, adjoining the property. Our local masseur comes highly recommend but is a very busy man so please book early, again through Vilas, to avoid disappointment Viraj our caretaker is the main man and Anita the cook, has a great hand with local cuisine. With prior notice she can cook you meals using local ingredients - veg and non veg -- and our home grown organic rice and vegetables. Kindly settle and negotiate with them directly about food. As one of our guests pointed out there are not too many ATMs around so if you are expecting the staff to cook your meals please bring enough cash to settle your bills! You will pay the staff directly for your meals, depending on what you order. Viraj sleeps on the property at night. Our staff have been with us for years. Please take care to speak to them with respect. They are always happy to help but keep your demands and expectations realistic -- this is a home and not a hotel. The property lies on the edge of Upper Sarve Village and on the edge of the Phansad Game Sanctuary. The beautiful white sands of the Kashid beach are less than a kilomtetre from the house and easily accessible and for those up to a bit more adventure the famous Murud Janjira fort is a picturesque 19 kilometre drive away. The fascinating Janjira fort sits 400 metres off the coast of Murud and can only be approached by boat. However, for those of you who would like to use the ferry from Mumbai, the Mandwa jetty is about an hour and a half from our place. If you need I can share details of a local taxi provider who can arrange drops and pickups for a charge. The recently added RORO service is available all year round and allows you to drive your own vehicle on and off the ferry We've deliberately decided to stay away from television but for those of you who cannot take a break from the internet we do have WiFi. However, please be patient this is a rural setting and there can be occasional breaks in connectivity. Also some phone networks can be patchy. Vodafone, BSNL and Tata Docomo have reasonably good reception and Jio has recently started too but Airtel has no (Website hidden by Airbnb) I like to say, we have less network here to help you make stronger connections!
