Treehouse by the sea

Our treehouse by the beach is a lofty studio that sits on the second story, up in the trees. It's peaceful, bright, and cozy, walkable to downtown Wakefield, and you can bike to the beach! This home was originally a carriage house built in 1901 by Narragansett stone masons. The living space is located on the second story, an open studio that was completely renovated in 2017. After walking up the inviting stairs to the upper deck entrance, you'll be welcomed into this serene and cozy spot to call home for a while. There is plenty to do all around this location, but you might just want to relax here during your stay. Everyone who comes here comments on how peaceful our space is. Kick off your shoes and read a book or listen to our record collection, cook a meal in the open kitchen, have a nice cup of morning coffee, or a glass of wine on the deck. We also have THE most comfortable full size bed, and hope you have very restful sleep here. The sound of the frogs and crickets at night is quite relaxing. There is also a couch that is as wide as a single bed for an extra guest. We have a great deck with cafe table, and a luxurious outdoor shower. The location is great, walkable to restaurants and coffee. Take the bikes and explore the bike path that goes through town and leads to the beach. * Bikes are vintage, we do our best to keep them in working order. Available only in warmer months, and availability may vary. Walk up the inviting stairs to the upper deck entrance. You will have the entire home, except the garage space. The garage will be locked, but there is off street parking for 2 cars. Don't miss the outdoor shower in the back- it's really awesome! *Outdoor shower not available for use after being winterized. We will be out of your way completely. Our manager Kayla is very close by if need anything at all. This home is on a shady street, just a few blocks from downtown Wakefield. Main st. is really historic and cute with lots of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and boutiques! We are also minutes from the ocean, easy to bike. We have an active neighborhood with neighbors out and about on walks, kids and dogs playing in yards, yet it is very peaceful and generally quiet at night. The Amtrak Kingston Station (KIN) is 15 minutes from our house. Once you're here, you're welcome to use the two bikes under the porch. Biking and walking from the house to attractions is pretty easy, you can definitely get to restaurants/coffee/brewery/shops within a few blocks. There is a lovely bike path, just a few blocks from our treehouse that goes all the way through town, and to the beach. Driving to the beach would only take a few minutes. We do recommend a car for the ease and option of exploring the beautiful coastline, but you don't absolutely need a car here if you're up for riding a bike around and relaxing locally. Nearest clam shack is 0.4 miles. Nearest food/coffee shop is 0.6 miles. Narragansett Town Beach is 3.2 miles. Matunuck Beach is 6.4 miles. Jamestown is 16 miles. Westerly is 17 miles. Newport is 19 miles. TF Green airport is 25 miles (You can ride a train from here to Kingston Station). Providence is 27 miles. There will not be access to laundry on site. Sorry we haven't finished landscaping/fencing the yard quite yet, just finished the house! We will get there.
