Boat of Garten is a beautiful traditional village in the Cairngorms National Park. Located just 6 miles from the bustling outdoors orientated town of Aviemore there are plenty of adventures to be had. Easily accessible from Inverness airports or by car from the A9, Boat of Garten makes a great base for exploring the area. This tourist haven is perfect for outdoor lovers and caters perfectly for hillwalkers, mountaineers, skiiers, mountain bikers, fishermen, golfers or those simply wanting to relax and enjoy some gentle forest walks, bird watching or watersports. The village itself is home to the Strathspey Steam Railway and RSBP nature reserve where Ospreys can be seen. Other adventures include nearby Landmark Forest Adventure Park, Highland Wildlife Park with it's polar bears, Whiskey Distilleries and the newly renamed Speyside centre. Easily accessible off the A9, with links by air from Inverness airport, rail, bus and even steam train. Aviemore is within easy biking distance and is a short bus ride away where there are link to mainline train and bus services north to Inverness and south to Perth and Edinburgh. Car is not essential but recommended. The park is situated on the Speyside way. Please note The Bothy is not really suitable for a working vacation due to limited internet access and variable mobile reception. We wish our guests to enjoy their holiday in nature without the distractions of work and screens and our positive guest reviews reflect this. Towels are not provided so please remember to bring them.
