Self contained guest house on Welsh border
Built in the 1800s, part of what used to be The Comet Inn the Annex still has the original features with the oak beams in the downstairs space, and a beautiful fireplace that we recently uncovered. There is a courtyard at the back of the property which is perfect for catching the evening sun We have a parking space big enough for one large car/SUV within our gated front garden. if you have any questions you can message or email me and we will try and help. We are only next door if you need us, but will give you space to enjoy your break St Martins is a quiet village with 2 family pubs and a supermarket which has a cafe if you want a good breakfast. There is a children's play area a short walk away. The village also has 3 take aways if you want to eat in without the hassle of cooking. If walking is your thing then you can head off for miles around the rabbit warren of country lanes around the village. We are close to the quaint town of Ellesmere to have an icecream by the mere, or a visit to the market town of Oswestry. Slightly further on you can visit Shrewsbury or Chester, or soak up some history at beautiful Chirk Castle, with a stop off to see the Ponycysyllte Aquaduct. 5 minutes drive and you are on the main route to glorious North Wales. The local village Gobowen has a train station if you are looking to ditch the car for the day. There is a bus stop on the road, and you are only a short car journey away from Gobowen train station
