Grooms Cottage - an idyllic Cheshire rural retreat

Grooms Cottage is adjacent to our home in the charming hamlet of Tiverton, near Tarporley, Cheshire. Built in the Victorian era, the cottage was accommodation for a groom to facilitate hunting and shooting parties from the hunting lodge and stables. Guests are provided with a breakfast welcome pack upon arrival consisting of Croissant, butter, Twinings tea, selection of Tassimo coffee pods, organic milk, Wilkin & Sons preserves, all sealed. Hand painted furniture and some antique pieces complement the modern and stylish cottage. The cosy lounge area with Habitat leather sofa, smart TV, B&O bluetooth speaker & woollen throws leads in to a large, well equipped dining kitchen with integrated dishwasher & fridge, fan oven, ceramic hob, extractor, Dualit toaster, soft close cupboards & drawers. A good selection of cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, non stick saucepans variety of drinking glasses. Additional downstairs WC. Upstairs, the spacious master bedroom suite with handpainted King Size bed, Roberts radio, quality cotton bedding, scatter cushions, Italian woollen throws & designer towels. 2nd bedroom with 2 adult bunk beds (unsuitable for children under 6) with Orla Keily fabrics ensure a cosy & comfortable stay. The whole cottage, there is ample secure parking for up to 2 vehicles with access via remote controlled electric gates. A recent addition to our facilities is the availability of a 7KW/h EV charging station which is available to guests at an additional cost. We will be available during your stay. Oulton Park Race Circuit is a 10 min drive, Portal golf clubs & spa even less. For walkers, the Sandstone trail is within easy walking distance & a network of ancient footpaths provide routes to Peckforton, Beeston, Tarporley & Bunbury (A guide of the local walks and footpaths is available in the cottage). Peckforton castle is a 5 minute drive, Beeston Castle & the Shropshire Union Canal are both close by. The Cheshire Cycleway is easily accessible. The Bolesworth estate, famous for both Carfest and International equestrian events, Cholmondeley Castle and Gardens including the new BeWILDerwood Cheshire adventure park are 10 minutes away. The Ice Cream Farm, Tattenhall, with its amazing range of activities for all the family is 5.3 miles. Tarporley with its charming High Street, Restaurants, Take Aways, Wine Bars, Boutiques and traditional pubs is a 5 minute drive and Chester with its Roman history and world famous Zoo, 13 miles. Public transport is limited. We can however, provide details of local taxi services upon request. Grooms Cottage is situated within a conservation area, our aim is to be environmentally aware in all aspects of life at the cottage. From the hot water and heating provided via a ground source heat pump using no fossil fuels to the biological cleaning and hygiene materials used with the cottage.
